I was in the Paisley Farmfoods store to pick up the 5kg onion bag and it was only £1 ... not sure if it's national or not but worth checking. Hope this helps someone.

They're not that small, more say snooker ball sized. But they are good and strong (from Norfolk), not mild like Aldi/Lidl usually are (Spanish).

Very strange because traditionally English onions were thought of as mild, and 'Spanish onions' meaning very strong! Seems a good deal though, so I'll stop in Farmfoods later, when I'm out. Heat to the OP.

No dispute regarding the amount of rain.
Onions need to be harvested as near to bone dry as possible otherwise they will rot.
These must have been pulled out months ago and stored.

Usually buy 5KG from local groceries for £2-3. £10KG are £5. So this is a good deal.
Could make a lot of base gravy for curries and freeze it up.

Don't have Farmfoods locally, but there is one where I'm going tomorrow. This is the 'Frozen food specialists' shop isn't it? Never been in one.

We been bought before xmas and they store well in the shed or covered in a greenhouse. They are still like new. Good quality onions (no swishy ones). Always have them in stock in the Stirling store. My husband always checks and is amazed that they have them in stock. Hot from me.
