I was just about to post this. Seems like a good deal to me!

from what i've read, this is a mainly online game, but no-one seems to be playing it (hence rock bottom price).
such-a-shame as it had much promise.

Great price for a new Xbox one game that's less than a year old. Shame about the game itself, interesting concept just didn't quite take off

It's still good for the price

Great concept although very poorly executed, bought it for £14 a few weeks ago, absolutely terrible. Game.

I'm quite enjoying playing it offline, thought I'd got a bargain from Tesco at £10. Even better at this price

The problem was the developers / publishers tried to "nickle and dime" the game; cause it to die. So beware, if you want the full evolve experience expect to shell out for DLC. (Currently on Steam all the game dlc comes to over £184) . I cant find the console DLC prices, but I suspect it will be similar.
Personally I wouldn't touch the game with a barge pole until the GOTY edition came out with all DLC included for a reasonable price.

Good point; the DLC for the consoles is also going for stupid prices so I wouldn't touch any of that either.
For £8 though, IMHO offline without the DLC isn't a bad investment

That may be true but for £8 the offline game's not bad, and some of us prefer to play games like this at our own place rather than being instantly sniped by 13-year olds "camping" and then crowing over the mike about how awesome they are ...
Each to their own I know, but in my opinion at least lack of online following doesn't automatically kill a game, particularly at this price
I should perhaps clarify: while it may have been aimed toward being mainly online, there are several offline modes: Hunt, Defend and Arena being the main "quick play" type, while Evacuation adds Nest and Rescue. Being able to play as one of four character classes with different strengths / weaknesses also adds depth, as does the ability to play as one of several different monster types which turns the dynamic on its head. There may not be many maps but they're big, not just length / width but multi-level vertically too. The AI's also not bad ... not like Brink, which while otherwise a good game was let down by crap AI which meant co-operative levels were controller-snappingly frustrating because of having to try to cover all roles yourself while the AI characters just ran around getting themselves killed ...
I was mostly swayed by widespread negative opinion about the game, but when I found it at Tescos at £10, I decided to take a punt and was glad I did. While it's certainly not a game I'll be playing forever, when life's busy it offers something you can pick up and play for half-an-hour or so

OK mate can't argue with you if playing it sp is you're thing I just enjoy a game when you know you're actually killing a person  rather than AI and lol at the 13 year old comment I don't bother with a mic unless I'm on with friends

No worries m8 ... no axe to grind, I just wanted people who play the way I do sometimes to know it might be worth taking a chance ... like I said, I almost didn't buy it because of all the bad press it's received but found I've enjoyed it so far
With you on the mike ... that came from an irritating experience playing Resistance back in the day, trying to talk to my sister's boyfriend playing from his house and couldn't mute the teen. You're right though, there's a certain satisfaction in killing a real person's character, but I don't play online often enough for that person not to be me most of the time

Well said, I couldn't have put it any better as this is exactly why I took a punt with it today seeing it for £8
