Tempting.
Any advice on what to do as a lone traveller to Paris. Besides going to the major landmarks. Im keen on meeting people and testing my rubbish French on the locals.

Remember there is an Amex cashback offer of £20 redemption on a £100+ spend, valid for bookings made until 10th Jan 2016. Not sure if it is still open for signup, it had a limit of 14000 signups. Hope this helps someone.

Probably best to avoid Friday's and Sunday's
For Lille early March go out Thursday and come back Saturday or a couple of cheap train times on sun / mon, otherwise all day Tuesday at £34.50

They still have a state of emergency ie unbridled police powers. So if you have vaguely dark skin or facial hair, best give it a miss or you could find yourself on the wrong end of a gendarme
