Even if that was there,there will always be people who will call & there will always be people who say it doesn't matter if you call as they are already aware there's a glitch etc etc.

I question the original RRP on this.
The table is a basic table with melamine finish - probably about £10 at IKEA.
The chairs are faux leather material, so again about £10 a chair. So in total about £50 worth. Which is now just under half price - and reduced to clear.

From what I understand there was a pricing error, Argos is honouring the price however it is a discontinued product and they didn't have many in stock before everybody started going crazy and ordering. Therefore as I have already stated it is a discontinued product so they won't be getting anymore stock. Just be greatful about getting a refund and stop whining because you missed out. However I do agree Argos does need to take action and remove this from the website!!

What pees me off about Argos is that the set was £149.99 on offer and then it appears with a £50 increase as a sale item. By tomorrow it will be at the correct price of £199.99 as a sale item.

That's silly though..at such an inflated price it allows this seller the chance to go out and buy the product at the real price and still sell higher than Argos are actually charging.
I'd be more tempted to click on the one at £75 buy it now and see how they attempt to fulfill the order. Bit stupid of them really as any cancellations will negatively impact their eBay account.

It's not discontinued, they took it off sale due to the error but under their own t's & c's they have to offer to sell at full price or cancel the order. But as you say none of our business really that's between her and the person bidding more than it's worth. Well I never got an initial order email after placing my order so doubt if I will get anything else.
Placed another order Tuesday for one of their 3-for-2 offers and it is being delivered today so there is nothing wrong with their systems when they actually want to send you the items.
It's clear they are equally adept in not sending out orders where there has been a pricing error so doubt anyone (even those who ordered early) will get a set at this price. Just chalk it up to experience.

They have today amended the correct price of the set to £199.99 on their website. Clearly the item is back in stock. No status update on my order but assuming the back log of yesterdays orders of thousands are taking their toll on Argos finance department to refund all from their one digit glitch price error!!

Let's face it - Argos couldn't give a hoot (or words to that effect) to people who ordered one or more of these at £19.99. If the amount is pre-authorised from our cards then that will "fall away" once the order isn't fulfilled and it will look as though nothing has happened.
The worse outcome would be if they are a retailer that takes the money at the order stage (a full debit) which then has to be refunded. This would be understandably annoying, especially if it has to be chased!

If you used a mobile number during your order you will have received a cancellation text. If you used a land line and Email, they so far haven't confirmed the order has been cancelled. I am not sure if they will. If they don't... a case could be made against them. But still, I do not expect anyone to get the table for that price. Anyone who says they did is trolling.

The table is a basic table with melamine finish - probably about £10 at IKEA.
The chairs are faux leather material, so again about £10 a chair. So in total about £50 worth. Which is now just under half price - and reduced to clear.

From what I understand there was a pricing error, Argos is honouring the price however it is a discontinued product and they didn't have many in stock before everybody started going crazy and ordering. Therefore as I have already stated it is a discontinued product so they won't be getting anymore stock. Just be greatful about getting a refund and stop whining because you missed out. However I do agree Argos does need to take action and remove this from the website!!
And as for the petition, sorry, but you don't have a leg to stand on... or a chair to sit on :smile:

I'd be more tempted to click on the one at £75 buy it now and see how they attempt to fulfill the order. Bit stupid of them really as any cancellations will negatively impact their eBay account.

Another keyboard warrior comes out of the woodwork
Placed another order Tuesday for one of their 3-for-2 offers and it is being delivered today so there is nothing wrong with their systems when they actually want to send you the items.
It's clear they are equally adept in not sending out orders where there has been a pricing error so doubt anyone (even those who ordered early) will get a set at this price. Just chalk it up to experience.
It's a bit bad from Argos not even emailing people to say it's been cancelled you can understand people getting angry at the way they have dealt with it even if you didn't expect them to go through with it
The worse outcome would be if they are a retailer that takes the money at the order stage (a full debit) which then has to be refunded. This would be understandably annoying, especially if it has to be chased!

Argos can't give this to anyone with the amount of fuss people have caused on social networks. Lol.
If you check out Twitter , the Argos helpers are saying that you may not got a cancellation email, but the money will be refunded if it was taken.
