Thank you, I've been looking for one of these for a while... Just ordered the animal.
I bought the Total via Currys black Friday. I have a really bad back and arthritis in most joints. This vacuum has been an absolute God send. It is so portable and allows me to do the whole house (small 2 bedroom with open plan stairs & lounge) on one charge. I can even do the stairs on my worst days now. The pick up is superb... Better than my upright Dyson. Yes it does need emptied often but for full strength suction it's worth it.

This information was posted on an earlier V6 thread...
For those asking about the differences between the models, highly recommend watching this (even if it is long!). Highlights worth mentioning: The V6 Absolute in the UK is different to the US version - the latter is the equivalent of the V6 Total Clean here. If you want lots of power and good for carpets, pick one of these two! The UK Absolute is the most powerful V6 you can get anywhere in the world, but the Total Clean - whilst not quite as powerful - is still 75% more powerful than the V6/Animal/Fluffy, and both the Absolute and Total Clean have far superior main heads to the others (wider, etc.).

8 Jan 16#36
For people asking about the differences in models, the guy on the phone explained all the different models before I ordered. Also I just said I'm looking to buy the v6 animal and they quoted that price - didn't say I'd seen it posted or anything.

Just to add cos its not too clear. The most powerful motorised head comes with the Absolute and the 2nd is the Total clean at 25% less power. But the total clean also comes with the best hard floor cleaning head ( the one that comes with the V6 Fluffy). So depends on what floors you have. Having a mix of hard floor and carpet the Total clean was the best compromise for me and I love it. I also suspect that the more powerful motorised head of the Absolute will use up the charge quicker so thats also a factor.

What's the difference between the standard v6 and the v6 Animal? On the website, they seem to both say they have a motorised head? Just wondering if its worth the extra £30 ?
Edit: OK looks like it may have a wider standard head and an additional mini motorised head for pet hair etc?

Fantastic deal, just ordered the V6 for £200 + the free tool kit. Thanks again OP, as I was just about to order the V6 animal from Currys (£249), but then decided to check hotukdeals to see if cheaper. I saw this deal and the price tag of £229 + free tools, and the even cheaper V6 for £200 + tools if you don't really need the extras the other models have.
There was no "haggling" over the phone for the deal either. I asked the prices and the saleslady confirmed the prices exactly as the OP had posted. I asked if they came with the free tool kit which she also confirmed. She asked me if I had registered with Dyson before to which I replied "no". I then confirmed which model I wanted to order and she then registered me.
All straightforward and hassle free. Once again "thank-you OP"!
Just keep an eye on Amazon Germany or France. They normally sell for 250-260 but sometimes comes down to 200.

Converting a EU plug to a UK plug: £2 adapter
UK warranty: already provided by Dyson (and EU law anyway)
Dyson's own wording on its own user manuals:
"Where this appliance is sold within the EU, this guarantee will only be valid (i) if
the appliance is used in the country in which it was sold or (ii), if the appliance is
used in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain or
the United Kingdom and the same model as this appliance is sold at the same
voltage rating in the relevant country"

It was still live on Sunday, ordered the Total Clean Sunday morning and it arrived on Monday, still waiting on tool kit but received confirmation that it is on it's way. They didn't ask me for a serial number I just said I was looking to get a Total Clean and they just said they had a special offer just now at a reduced price with free toolkit. Was quick and easy and the Dyson is good too!
i ordered the animal last week when the price was 230 but got sent the v6 and they won't honour the price. If you ordered the animal I would check the machine you actually got sent as I was to the animal was never 230.
