Taking advantage of the Hilton winter sale, I've managed to bag myself the Hilton on JBR for only £69 per night!! With taxes this does go to around the £75 per night BUT at the moment there is 10% quidco which tracked almost instantly!!
The dates I have used are 11 of August to the 21st of August and selected the King Studio room at the winter sale price!
I do think you have to sign up to HH honours too but this is free.
I've £1 = 5.5 AED as illustrative conversion.

Hot but other 5* hotels are also pretty cheap in the summer since it's scorching hot, I personally wouldn't go in the summer but Dubai is lovely in the winter when temps are around 30 degrees.

Anyone know what the fire safety of the hotel is like. Seems a bit lax in Dubai.

Be aware there is a lot of building work going on around this hotel at the moment. Many people have complained about the dust and noise which is probably why they are struggling for bookings and selling at a reduced rate.
I actually have a booking myself for January 24th for 5 days, if anyone is interested I will let you know what the current situation is

Very nice hotel but wouldn't want to stay between April - September as temperatures are almost as ridiculous as the beach bar prices (£10 for a bottle of Kopparberg when I was there in December 2014). If you want a drink go further up the coast to Barasti where drinks are a "more reasonable" £6 a bottle.

People making jokes about the fire in Dubai. At least it didn't fall over..

If the main purpose of your holiday is drinking alcohol then maybe UAE isn't the best destination for you. The price of booze isn't that important for most people........

try drinking outside the hotel, sound like one of those that spend their whole time in the hotel!

We had a couple nights at the Hilton by the Creek, on our honeymoon. The Hilton staff made us very welcome, brought a cake up as soon as we arrived, I think the restaurant was about to close but they still let us in and we had an amazing meal, one of the best meals we've ever had. I would definitely recommend Hilton if they are all like this one was. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
The temperature was nice and warm in August was hot even in the evenings. It's that hot even the bus stops have air conditioning.

And are there any natural attractions in dubia / anywhere there lol
youd have to force me to go sit in an aircon room in the middle dessert with shopping as the only "relief" , even for free

Spend almost a year in KSA, then go to Dubai and it's such a wonderful contrast! I hate shopping but do appreciate good air-conditioning..
I was very impressed with the place in general but prices do tend to be somewhat inflated, just like the rest of the region.
I can't say I'd choose Dubai as a "holiday destination" but certainly an interesting place to visit or work

not just booz, but if you want to pay £5 for a 500ml water and £25 for a seafood pizza, go for it!

Dubai is just a big rip off. From what I've read it's in its own mad bubble were people think it's ok to be ripped off. If you were in UK you would laugh at the prices they charge.
