Same price at Tesco

Not impressed with ours, most of the big brands can't go in length wise. Also hears unevenly.

I had one, it only lasted 12 months. The manufacturer said they'd take a look at it as a good will gesture, but not worth sending it in the post when you can pick up a brand new toaster for the same price as P&P. Apparently these are not made to the same standard as the expensive Dualit toasters as seen in upmarket department stores (no surprise really!)

For this money its a good buy, for the normal price its better to get one of their proper toasters. Get the impression they are just using the name...

The word lite says it all.I never knew Dualit were producing such a naff looking toaster. The normal/original ones are so much better looking and more professional. Had a 4 slice for around 10 years and still going strong. I would suggest Dualit dump this and stop
ruining their excellent reputation.

Sad, but I love our Dualit toaster, had it for years and have replaced the timer once and two of the heating elements. Some would say it is therefore unreliable but it is infact an old fashioned product in a modern world.......one which you can fix without an electronics degree, buy it and keep it for years, it'll outlive you.

Cheap, certainly, but not in the same league as proper Dualits.

I am keen to get a Dualit, but my Russell Hobbs Toastec is still going strong after 16 years use!

Things are just not made like they were in the past.

When the current ones dies I'll get the decent Dualit.

I bought the 2 slice from a deal on here YEARS ago. It's been brilliant. Just bought this to replace it, thanks OP.

Got one from Costco at Christmas for £50 and happy with it - better than other toasters at the same price. I knew it wasn't a £150 model so I wasn't expecting that.

Spotted a 4 slice in Aldi earlier, looked similar to this, 20 quid - worth a look of you are doing your weekly

bought one of the expensive steel ones, had to replace 2 control knobs and one element. not value for £150ish

I have one of these that I paid full price for.
I've always scoffed at idiots paying for a Dualit toaster while I've been merrily using my Morphy Richards and Tesco toaster.
I enjoyed turning the toast over and around for it to toast evenly-honest I did.
This toasts bread quickly and evenly on both sides like a toaster should. End of.
Buy one at this price you won't regret it.
And it does bagels so it toasts them on one side and warms them on the other.

Had a dualit lite for just over 5 years now and it still toasts fantastically. No complaints on this exact model from me.

More than half of the reviews are 3 star or under, don't believe these are made as once upon a time, they used to be made of metal while these are actually plastic, buy with caution.

No problems with this exact model in 2+ years (and it gets a lot of use!). Yes, posters above are probably correct in that it isn't as good as significantly more expensive alternatives

Dualit quality has dropped severely over the years.

Had a proper Dualit Stainless Toaster which served us well for many years.

We've had this exact same Toaster for 18 months which has been used no more than twice a week & it's cracked right along the plastic fascia & one of the elements has stopped working.
We have the matching Kettle which has tarnished inside & the plastic top has discoloured badly.

Unfortunately with this lower priced Dualit Range you're paying for the name!

I have a Kenwood toaster I've had for 20 years (!) which was a better than average option at the time. Was going to finally update it but the reviews have put me off :disappointed:

Thing is cheaper makes are terrible. Using a breville four slot toaster. Two slots failed after 18 months of light use.

It's worth noting that there are two general types of Dualit toasters. There's these; that are the same internals as a lot of other toaster brands. Then there's the proper Dualit toaster that has the Dualit Pro Heat patented elements inside and are fully replaceable, or servicable parts. They are the only ones worth getting but they are expensive but will literally last a lifetime. The most important thing with a toaster is how fast it heats up. Most heat up too slowly resulting in over baked bread, rather than toasted, i.e. the bread is crispy throughout. Proper toast is toasted on the outside whilst staying like soft bread inside. This unfortunately is the type that just over bakes your bread. Other brands that are internally identical are D'elonghi and Morphy Richards. They even do different models in their ranges but all contain the same elements and mechanisms etc. You pay more for the fancier designs and pay more for the bigger names. It's a good price but don't expect anything other than average toast.

Waste of money. Buy the proper one (which is excellent but expensive) or buy a cheapo toaster (which this is) without a brand name on it for 1/3 of this price.

Very similar design. Works wonders. Does great toast in just a couple of minutes & hasn't let me down in 10 years or so. Don't think anything else could be better.

Bought one of these a few years back, lasted about 6 months and packed up, it would not "latch" on one side, Costco had stopped stocking them so were not able to give me a replacement, so ended up with a refund. To be honest it didn't really toast that well when it worked.

This is £5 cheaper. Also 4-slice, also cream. Different brand but Delonghi are still poncey.

Maybe I'm the only person here that isn't impressed by my "proper" Dualit toaster, ie fully metal bodied one. It DOESN'T toast evenly, it tends to dry the bread out completely, things jam in it at the drop of a hat, the slot isn't tall enough and though they sell you toastie "cages" for it, it's a VERY skinny effort that you get out and you have to trim it all round the edges to fit in, in the first place. They should tell you not to buy those cages unless you have the "professional" multi slot one with the fat slot at one end. The only good thing about it is that it won't break down, though my old ultra cheap long slot toaster was ten times better. It cost about a fiver from Asda or somewhere and was so cheap that it didn't even have a brand name on it. I wish I'd kept it!

To be honest - it doesn't do both sides evenly either, but it is better toast than previous toasters I've had.

I skipped past this deal earlier assuming from the image that it was for a morphy richards (or similar).

Same here but I have the 3 slice version. At £40 I've ordered this 4 slicer though as you never know when you'll have a toast party and need those extra slots! I'm thinking 20-30 slices every five minutes. That's a lot of toast and a lot of partying. :wink:

I bought the copper version of this in the recent 30% off warehouse deals deal. £180 toaster for £104. Sell my old school original 4 slicer for £60-£70, win win. Plus when I registered it I got a free chopping board and jam set. Now we're talking.

It does have the pro heat elements. It's the same toaster as pgregg's, except mine has just two slots.

A food processor is a different product to a toaster :neutral_face:

Great price, one of my customers bought a duality toaster from selfridges, it lasted 44 years!

Says it doesn't drip. Got a Breville but limited space.

Point is Dualit discontinue products and then don't offer/stock replacement parts, thereby rendering their products disposable rather long term.I don't think I need a degree to swop one lid for another, and I don't see why I have to dispose a heavy duty motor working perfectly, simply because a plastic lid is cracked.Dualit as a result leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The plastic water level indicator on my dualit kettle split after 18 months. We are not even big tea drinkers.

Again not a proper Dualit kettle. Part of the cheap generic range that use the same parts as Morphy Richards and D'elonghi. It's a shame they choose to tarnish their name but I guess it's there to make money from the masses.

Nevertheless not a cheap kettle.

Returned mine looked used. Too big too

​buy an Alessi electric kettle. Expensive but hold their value. Ours is 8 years old and still perfect and still looks new despite heavy use. No faults. Great quality.
