Heatthanks OP, sadly the quality of many much pricier scales & supposed reputable brands isn't worth a jot, i'm going to see if there are a few nr cambridge store, appreciated (have had 3 other brands die on me in the last 18 months).

Went to B&M in Manchester Gorton on Friday and these were reduced to £2 there not sure what the original price was.

Great price. Just bought the Argos ones (£4.99) the other week!
