That's why the say it's up to 70% off. There are plenty of further reductions there.

Bought a baby snowsuit last week and it's £10 cheaper today so there does seem to be genuine reductions on there.

I've managed to pick up (free collection at the store) two pairs of cargo school shorts for £3 a pair (were £10 a pair) - so quite happy with that saving - went through Quidco as well.

They have also been known to put the top price up and leave the bottom price the same and claim a bigger discount !

Debenhams the new DFS when it comes to sales all year round.

It's pretty naive to think companies don't, generally the sales have be fair this sales period. From Boots, Next, Debenhams, marks and Spencer's and schuh. We all must remember the traditional sales pattern of old is gone. Where there would be one or two sales per year, for two weeks at most. Business is more aggressive with continual sales in some shops, in regards to debenhams all items I have looked at over the course of the last month have followed the correct and legal sales framework. There are odd items that fluxtuate from that trend but in the main, the sales have been carried out correctly. If I were concerned about anything it would be debenhams sales return policy.

Maybe shops hold just start with a lower price then hyper inflating the RRP to show a big discount when the sales roll around ? The consumer is not stupid. Yet shops still think they are.
A bit like using the sale price stickers that have black under them so covers then original price. I had this with Debs once when a pair of jeans showers £60 half price down to £30. The sticker was not stuck on properly and the white label showed price was £45 originally.

thanks for your insight so should I take it this is a good sale or just a normal one where they are trying to entice people and have not really dropped prices

I've just gone and bought two presents for my 8 year old son which I'm putting away for next Christmas - the remote control 1:10 scale (Product HWD: 24.1 x 26.7 x 45.7cm) Hummer H3 vehicle (now £24 - was £80) and the large magic set (now £6 - was £20). I did actually spend a bit of time googling these items to see how the prices compared elsewhere, and am happy to say that they have been reduced a lot compared to the prices at other places (went through Quidco as well).

I remember seeing some Xmas decorations on sale with a small note saying they had been on sale at the "full" price in a certain store in July

Any idea if Debenhams are likely to further reduce items or is the Blue Cross sale the last of it? I'm on the fence about buying something.....:smirk:
