got this at this price a month or 2 ago at pre order also, got despatched within a week. it's an effort to install it, not just a simple screw on, u got to use provided glue. but it is a very good toilet seat. 10x better than the IKEA one I had as this one actually fits, and will fit any toilet.

Bought this when it was just over £8. The fixings are different to a normal toilet seat. It's screwed and glued onto the toilet, so it doesn't slide. Was a slight fiddle but hasn't moved at all. It's very substantial (read: heavy)!
Wasn't in stock when I ordered either, I think it took just over a week to come. Heat added

Don't let the rather daunting distructions put you off
it isn't that difficult to fit
couple of notes don't make the same mistake as me and not use all the glue
it says to let it squeeze through the holes but I didn't see any difference just putting a bit on top
and someone should tell them masking tape doesn't stick to porcelain

Have they got any 'used' ones?

So given the glue, if you subsequently needed to change the seat, how easy would that be?

I let it squeeze through the hole when I'm sat on it.

Remains to be see I suppose! I says you can scrape the glue off in the instructions I think. I reckon you could fit with without the glue if you were really worried. I have hoping it will last for many years so I won't have to change it. It seems pretty heavy duty.

Better than when you're not sat on it

is it a soft shut seat?

When it's shut I wouldn't say it's too soft

No, it's a heavy molded wood normal seat.

nice find.. bought one from argos about a month ago (£25) and the paint starting cracking less than a week in, and then the hinge snapped off on boxing day... didn't realise so much thought had to go into loo seats. have ordered this.. hopefully its better quality.

I bought an Argos value one just a couple of weeks before I spotted(here we go again :smirk: ) this and was really impressed considering the price and how easy it was to fit

Nice seat - hope has strong hinges so the lid doesn't fall on head when sniffing the seat

Why are toilet seats so cold?

Why not make them in Brown, wont show the marks then?. Also why are toilets not made with a non stick coating, save using a brush after you have had a dump?

A pointless gimmick but that is just my opinion
