After the DABS debacle over the Gigabyte Osmium that appeared to be in stock for one (confirmed) person. I decided to see if there was any other mechanical keyboard offers. Specifically Cherry Browns (for typing). After a bit of digging Scan have some refurbed Corsair Vengeance full size keyboards with Cherry browns for £65~ ex del. Great deal for a keyboard that is normally double the price.

Note price given is included UPS del option £3.99.
To be fair to Corsair, they exchanged it (with a bit of hassle). We're on our 3rd since then due to the same issue.

I've just received mine, in fact im typing on it right now and it's amazing to type on. Really fluid. It is UK layout. I'm just going to upload some pics and then I'll link the album onto this post.
All the LEDS are working correctly, no issues. Checked every key and there are no problems. Even the media keys work on mac. The keyboard came in OEM-Like brown paper box but it was sealed at the manufacturer and came with all the gubbins, including the different colour keys for the gaming part (WADS etc) and the keycap fob thing. Had a look up and down the keyboard and the keyboard is completely spotless, no marks or anything. Feels like it has never been typed on.
i was going to post this earlier, seems like a great deal!

I had to RMA 3 of these keyboards due to the LEDs on them dying within weeks of ownership. Dead LEDs on their K70s was quite a widespread issue and it even had its own dedicated support thread on Corsair's forums.
My advice is - while this keyboard is a solid peice of kit. If youre buying it to fit it in with your lighting scheme DONT Because those LEDs will still end up dying not long after ownership.
I was sent K70s from different batches/revisions from Corsair claiming they had found a fix to the problem but LEDs still died after a few weeks.
If youre going to buy the keyboard because its a mechanical keyboard and not for the lightning then it makes a great keyboard.
I also had a K95 bought from Amazon as soon as they had it in stock in the UK. I had it for a year before selling it to a friend of mine and all the LEDs on it are still working to this day. He's had the keyboard close to two years now and its still going strong.

The last time they sold these they were repurposed US stock, changed to a UK layout. This means they can't sell as new or in retail boxes. Not had any issues but you should be ablet to see the manually altered product code on the rear sticker

LEDs are more likely cherry switch issue rather than corsair's fault, one died on my Logitech G710+ after couple of years.
nomnomnomnom to BenderRodriguez
12 Jan 16#25
There is a long running thread on the Corsair forums about it. The LED is not part of the switch, it's entirely seperate. Cherry do not supply the LED.
Corsair have wired up the LED's badly in regards to the resistance used. The blame is firmly with them.

Every time I buy a gaming peripheral that is 'grade A' or 'refurbished' it's encrusted with Doritos crumbs from some fat nerds sticky gaming fingers, or crystallized sweat built up in the crevices of the device. Tempting price, but I'll have to check the T&Cs of the returns.

Yeah the ones I've seen all have red LEDs. If you want to pay an extra £35 you can get the RGB one if you want to be able to customise the colour of your LEDs. You can turn the LED off completely if you aren't that fussed and just want a high quality mechanical keyboard.

Mine has just arrived, I decided to buy this after being messed around my eclipse computers if anyone saw the deal on here.
It arrived in oem packaging and sealed by corsair.
I gave the keyboard a very close inspection upon opening it and I’m yet to find a scuff/mark or any signs of even minor usage
As for the keyboard itself it’s just a delight.
To answer some question, the LEDS are ONLY red and can be either switched off completely or switched on with 3 different light intensities. There’s also a button to light up particular keys (WASD etc) which can be programmed using the software.
So review aside, if I had paid full whack for the keyboard and received it in the retail packaging I would of never guessed it was a refurbished model.
I think it's probably worth holding fire now that 50% sale at Razer has been announced.

I have spent most of the morning going through the different options with these Cherry MX Types and finally settled on the MX Blue option as I like the clicky tactile feel to a keyboard.
Not fussed about the Razer Sale as IMO I think the corsair build standard is far higher and would rather give the money to corsair.

15 Jan 16#54
Hi I got mine and I am very happy with it, If you live in the UK you do not need to pay any return shipping on any faulty items as you are protected under UK Consumer Law, 99% of the people on that link are from the US which is totally different . Regarding the LED issue, They have resolved it, On Scan if you really want to make sure you get a newer model, Pick the refurbished Corsair Gaming one rather than the Corsair Vengeance these are the ones with the revised layout and are no different in features etc to the other ones. Hope that helps.

I just got the £32.99 coolermaster quickfire XT from Argos deal (the right keyboard turned up amazingly), but was really wanting this one. Is the K70 better than the quickfire XT? I really like the design of the Corsair and the ability to light specific keys. But if it's worse than the quickfire XT then I'll obviously reconsider.
froggy88 to lauren993
26 Jan 16#60
To be honest, it all depends on which switches you want. It's hard to say which is 'better'. In terms of build quality I think the corsair is much better, but that's just me.
If it's the aesthetics you want, then you have to consider how much you're willing to pay for that.
If you've grabbed a quickfire XT for £33 I'd be very happy with that. I would of defiantly bought one if I didn't get messed around by eclipse computers (for those who saw the thread).
Unfortunately, this keyboard is current discontinued (at the discounted/refurbished price) so you're going to have to pay the full whack if you want a K70.
The only advice I can give (which is the really annoying type of advice, the typed of advice I read when deciding if I should splash out on the K70 or not) is that I would of never spent £70+ on a keyboard, but now that I have, I'd defiantly do it again.
The good thing about mechanical keyboards is that they hold there value really well when reselling. So if you did want to make the jump, you shouldn't loose out too much financially.
IF it were me in your situation though, I'd be very happy with the Quickfire XT, especially snapping it for £33.
