The normal ones instore/online are still £20, but in the 'offers' area they have some that are slightly different that are £7.50 (orange and cream)
Still with a 10 year warranty and looks coated too.(not bare cast iron) Only difference I can see is they have the extra carrying lump opposite the handle and not in a box like the £20 ones.

If you season it regularly rust isnt a problem.

You might be right, but what makes you so sure?
The OP believes it is not bare cast iron and other posts mention it not rusting.

its uncoated on the inside, my advice on how to treat them is 100% sound

Dangerous advice!
This product is (I imagine) enamelled. Not bare cast iron. If it was bare unseasoned cast iron, it would rust within 10 minutes on your draining board.
You can't really season enamelled pans and scrubbing with wire wool will wear away the enamel.

I bought one of these last year- if it is the same there is no problem with rust at all. I always clean mine with a heavy duty steel wool scourer and the surface has not been damaged at all. Very good quality.

Just keep a coat of oil on it when you put it away, no need to clean with washing up liquid etc, just use a damp cloth.

The 'non stick' coating isn't really that great. When its gone then there is rust to deal with. I'd avoid and spend the extra on a better one. Either that or buy the ikea one which is larger and replace each year / when its poor coating wears off. I guess the pan is pretty cheap and you get what you pay for. Apart from that cleaning this style of pan is a real pain. Have some heat any way since there is probably many people who could benefit from this deal.

they aren't non stick, it looks 'coated' because its sand cast, they become non stick simply by using them.
to properly clean them every 3 - 6 months depending on how much its used, you turn them upside down and burn off any residues on the gas etc, then scrub with wire scourer, then put back on a high heat to get them smoking hot, leave to cool down slightly, fill with oil and reheat, this will properly re-season them after cleaning.
but for cleaning after each use, whilst its still hot, chuck it in the sink in hot water, and clean with a green scourer, then lightly rub with oil to prevent any rusting.

Its after using it really, and to season you need to wash it, dry it then brush or wipe it worth a thin layer of vegetable oil.
Though it seems this pan might be enamelled so might not be necessary?

Fully cast iron ones are best for steaks! None of this ceramic nonsense! Got mine from TK Maxx for about £10 ish I believe.. My boyfriend whacked it in the oven on about 220 before we first used it (seasoned!) and I've been instructed not to use washing liquid on it ever.. Seems to work! Just use a washing up sponge and hot ish water to clean it!

They also have cast iron casarol dishes, we got the griddle and a 4.5 litre pot which was £15, really pleased with them

I've had one for years use it most days and it is great. Got mine at Sainsbury's too. They are much heavier than frying pans so you need to heat it up well before you use it. Never put oil in it though always oil whatever you're cooking instead otherwise you get lots of smoke and burnt bits.

Ive had one of these from Sainsbury's for several years use it most days and clean it lightly after each use then once every 3 months or so pop it in a bag with some oven pride and in the morning it is like new.

Oh. I didn't know that. So when using it again after not using it for some time just give it a wash and sear away then ? Nice one thanks for the tip. My girlfriend would salute you

I've got a ridged cast iron one and have never had a problem keeping it seasoned. Just a quick rinse and wipe over with a damp cloth followed by a thin coat of oil is all that's required.

Useless for anything other than asparagus... can't keep it seasoned easily either as you can't do a good scrape around the ridges (without also buying a dedicated ridged spatula).
These are for those who need grill marks on their steak but have no idea what they're doing.

This (I'd imagine) is enamelled though, so not really seasonable.
Just need to be careful not to scratch it (no metal implements or abrasive cleaners).
Give it an overnight soak with soapy water and then a brush should get it clean.

What size are they? Will they be big enough for 2 large steaks, for example?

They fit two normal steak shape 8oz's in. If you had one of those big thin round Gammon steaks then it would only do one. Most things it is fine for 2.

As the comments they are only available in store - they look like the online ones that are £20 but have an extra carrying piece opposite the main handle. In my store they still had the £20 in all colours in the usual place. The cheaper ones were with all the current 'offers' like the baking tins and saucepans others have posted.
