Well if that's the case then I'll not be getting anything else from Asda.
When the guy phoned about my refund he seemed to just acknowledge that I had been overcharged - it did not seem that a refund was automatically going to arrive had I not emailed them...

They didn't used to do it that way....but they do now :stuck_out_tongue:

They have NEVER done that before - any cash that comes off my card has ALWAYS been what it says on the receipt.
I am aware that they may hold the funds to the amount ordered before charging the correct delivered amount, but never before have I been overcharged like this.
I know this because my order is always missing something (I don't want substitutions for most things) so I would have noticed the wrong money being taken on previous orders if what you say is correct...

That'll almost make up for any overcharges!
Couple of things "not available - no substitute at you request etc etc" on a recent delivery so original price as ordered: £42.82
Amount on receipt, £38.82 (as it should be).
Amount taken from debit card: £42.82.
Verging on crooks there if you ask me - had to jump through some hoops to get the cash back, it certainly wasn't forthcoming automatically.
They have form for this of course...

They charge you the online price and then refund/charge the difference between that and what they actually deliver
