First after 3 years. One was probably unlucky but 2 probably indicates they are pretty unreliable...I've learned my lesson. Will probably buy a CTEK one next time

I have this charger, used on two 2lt diesel cars now, took less than 40mins to put enough charge in and get battery voltage up enough to start my Insignia 80ah batt. To fully charge it would probably take a day.

You get a lot for your money but I would not buy. I have had 2 of these. First failed after 3 years despite being only used a handful of times, 2nd one failed after a year or so. Quality is very poor.

Smart chargers can be uses through the cigi/12v socket if you have one that live all the time.
my one worked fine on a PegPerago Thomas the Tank and a Feber Lightning Mcqueen. never timed them sorry.

I bought the aldi one that looks identical to this and it worked fine on 6v batteries (kids ride-on vehicles) but just gave an error when hooked up to any 12v battery I've tried. might be ok on tiny 12v batteries but wouldn't even look at the battery in my 1.4 merc.

Will it work with 6v batteries for kids ride on and how long it take to full charge from flat?

You wont get that problem with this charger as it wont even recognize a flat battery unless they have changed the model they used to sell?

Nah - 4 amps charge would see it charged in 24 hours - unless it's so damaged its never going to work . Leaving a battery charging for 5 days at 4 amps !? That's would ridiculous - check your maths people ! 12 hours to deliver 48ah - so 5 days delivers 480 ah - that's quite a battery .

when lead acid battery are flat they become damaged and take much longer to charge. However after maybe only 3 days charging it might possibly have enough to start.

Seems like you need a degree in maths and/or electrical servicing to use this efficiently or even use at all.

check your battery size before buying a charger. A charger only 4 amps designed for a 1.2L would take about 5 days to charge a battery in a 2.0L diesel.

Maths not even once? 70ah battery ( 2.0l diesel as you said) would take 5days to charge at 4amps?

How does this compare to CTEK MXS 5.0 charger? I know the CTEK ones are more expensive but is the price difference acceptable in this case ...

I wouldn't recommend using it on a gel (sealed for life) motorcycle battery as it'll probably kill it/shorten its life considerably.

Had mine for over three years, use it a lot and it is still going strong. Heat added.
