I picked up one of these a couple of weeks ago and have been really pleased with it so far, it is a very neat bit of kit and does a great job providing reassurance that all is ok at home when you are away. Highly recommended and a great price.

At that price decided to take a punt. I ve seen mixed reviews with several complaining about accessing the server, have you found that a issue?

No it hasn't caused me an issue at all. I had a few problems setting it up but that was due to my router rather than the Canary itself.

It records to the cloud and you can increase the amount of recordings you access via subscription if preferred.

It's a bit big for a security camera.

It's really not, was surprised at just how small it is.

A possible relevant point that they may steal it...If the alarm decibel noise did not frighten them off first.

Lots of good reviews on Amazon unless you read the last most recent10 reviews first which put it down as terrible.

thought I'd take a punt, might be better than the home monitor HD I have...

likewise .. though magic_man - reviews say that it only streams in 720p

Can they just un-plug it to disable the alarm?

tbh, a burglar would just cut the internet line just outside the house before entering. As a security system, an old fashioned closed system with siren is a must.

Reviews say Iphone app is good, but Android poor. Anyone using this with Android?
Got one and has been a nightmare to set up. Won't get past the initial app login. Luckily Amazon are arranging a swap. See if the next one works.

I wonder if it is related to your router? Which one do you have?

same here.. nightmare!! firstly, it wouldn't communicate with my phone.
After a few hours i got it to work, but the live viewing is very poor ... frozen image with audio only. Hardly what i call a live view. My old £25 D-link IP camera did i much better job. And i'm on a Virgin 100 Meg connection!! ..
Accidentally set up multiple locations on the app and there is no way to remove one.
I can't see myself keeping this to be honest. I'm in 90% mind to send it back.

I had issues setting mine up initially but after a bit of playing around I established the issue was actually my Virgin Super(!) Hub which was also causing me issues when trying to get a new Harmony Remote hub set up.
I decided to get a new router and put the Superhub into modem mode and it has worked like a dream since.

Yeah. I put mine into modem mode ages ago and use an Asus r7000. I suspect it is device incompatibility with my oneplus 2 as it seems to work OK with my wife's Samsung.
