This Bosch is a hammer drill and is designed for wood metal or Masonery. It is perfectly capable of drilling brick or concrete, and designed to achieve such a task.
SDS increases the rate and power of the hammer action, and often adds features such as the ability for hammer action without rotation for chiselling etc. If you're going to be working permanently with brick or Masonery, then yes an SDS works well for you.
But the regular DIYer, this Bosch will be perfect for most work including tasks such as hanging a flat screen TV on a brick wall (just done it with this drill with De Walt Masonery drill bits)

I find hammer action is fine for soft brick such as breeze blocks or old soft house bricks. For a modern brick, stoney wall or hard cement I'd go SDS any day. The reduced effort getting through is enormous. Almost like drilling through wood. Also SDS has the added function of a non slip drill bit which helps in a big way of getting the job done.
Basically you can sweat or not!
