My local are selling cast iron ones for 7.50 down from 10.00. I think someone posted it a week back so probably national.

Aye, I got one of the cast iron ones on my grocery shop last week, it's really heavy and was even better as I didn't know it had been reduced! I wouldn't go for anything other than cast iron now, as the two previous ones I have had that weren't have both bent out of shape.

same here, they had orange and cream ones reduced from £20 to £10 on Boxing Day, then reduced further to £7.50 for clearance. The other colours were still £20. This was in a big London store btw.

For a griddle you want bare cast iron or enamelled cast iron, depending on how much care you like to give your pans.
