Yea it's still problematic but the key is its being worked on.
There are a few other apps which are really good and make this so much better than anything else on the market.

Bargain price, looks like I missed out, but they will probably still have some in stores.
Over 100 left in stock of the 64GB version which is £120 grade A or £110 Grade B but there is only one left in grade B

I got one of these for Christmas, its really good, the apps are fantastic, much more on offer than basic streaming apps. My kids love Just Dance, Song Pop Party, Legends (monster trucks) and crossy road. I have Infuse (to connect directly to my NAS (via FTP)) for home movies, Netflix and iPlayer. The remote is great for quick searching Netflix with your voice.

My brother got a Grade A and it arrived with the original box in mint condition and with a 2 year guarantee which is better than Apple so you can really go wrong.

Kodi available on this??? Missed it on atv3 so might be worth a pop now!!

I have the 64GB version (not worth it IMO over the 32GB). Unfortunately it remains unused as unlike my Roku 3 it doesn't have ITV Hub, All 4 or Demand 5. Hopefully the companies will make them soon, shouldn't have thought it would be a huge leap from their existing iOS apps.

I wouldn't hold your breath. I'm waiting for Now TV for Fire TV. I sold my Apple TV 3rd Gen as wanted a one box for everything. I was going for the Apple 4, but iPlayer wasn't available.

I put Kodi onto mine last night having received my USB C cable. 1st impressions are pretty good. All addons that i've tried work ok and all my NAS drives went on flawlessly. I guess there must be some issues with it being an Alpha release, but i've not come across them yet.

I disagree, I went wth the Amazon Fire TV because the Apple TV lacked hardware functions and apps that I needed. If you don't need a TOSlink or catch-up TV apps for mainstream UKTV, the Apple might be a good option though.

I think you'd need to sideload it using Xcode on a Mac

ok thanks. appreciate that, I'll wander over to google to get the instructions. Did think it a bit strange Apple having emulators on the store.

What would you say the best solution is then? I'm fed up of multiple boxes that still don't do every task. iPlayer is now available for the Apple TV 4 by the way.
I have a sky now TV box and Apple TV 3 at the moment
Apple TV is great for mirroring from my MacBook and iPhone, I also have some iTunes purchases, just a handful of movies and music, not a lot, but these all play through the Apple TV. Sky now TV box is great for all the standard catch up services (player, ITV hub, CH5, all4). Occasionally I subscribe to Sky now TV services on a month by month basis as there are often deals, both work on the Sky Now TV and Apple TV. I also occasionally use Amazon prime video on a month basis - neither of my boxes will support this - I don't want to buy an Amazon fire stick/fire box as thats another unit and doesn't do everything else anyway. So at the moment I use the Apple TV to mirror Amazon services from my laptop or iPhone - not ideal.
I understand that most providers of smart boxes don't want to provide support for competitive services. However it would be nice if there was a smart box that did all the usual catch up services from the free to air channels, and:
- Sky NOW TV access
- Amazon prime video access
- Netflix (Not for me personally but most people will probably want this)
And a double bonus would be the ability to still mirror my MacBook and iPhone.
Maybe one day there will be such a device !

Roku 3 (probably the earlier ones too) will do all of that  without the double bonus of the AirPlay :disappointed: It does seem to support some sort of mirroring but seems limited to Microsoft or Android devices (I've not tested it).

Does this have a regular 3.5mm headphone jack
shakerstevens to kashavsehra
7 Jan 16#44
Nope, the older version 3 did have a dedicated Optical audio jack but not regular 3.5mm headphone.
The new version 4 has neither. Version 4 connectivity:
HDMI 1.43
802.11ac Wi‑Fi with MIMO
10/100BASE‑T Ethernet
Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology
IR receiver
USB‑C for service and support
Thank you. I was edging towards the Roku 3 in my thoughts. I did wonder if I could achieve the same with the Sky now box which is basically a Roku with Skys on firmware. If I could sideload the Amazon video app onto it then that would be great. All I'd be missing then is Netflix (not used for years) and also missing Airplay mirroring as you say.

Anybody else receive there's in less than great condition?
Mine's arrived today and it looks like the box has been kicked around the warehouse but the unit itself is scratched. Not terrible but definitely not Grade A/Mint.

What does Grade A means: Mint: Working product in mint cosmetic condition with all essential accessories.
