Aldi are now selling their wines online by the case. Some of the wines also work out cheaper than buying them in store. Also, as a special launch offer there is free standard delivery!

I work for Aldi. I've tried the majority of the wines and they ALL punch well above their price tag! My favourites... Exquisite Argentinian Malbec priced at around £5.99 is a STEAL! Malbec of this quality will cost you £10+ in another supermarket. For a white, the GAVI is exceptional priced at also £5.99 (i think) Ask me any questions if you want help

Had a quick look - don't state the alcoholic strength of the wines so need to go to the store - so what's the point of delivery then? I JUST VOTED COLD AND THIS WEBSITE ADDED 6 DEGREES!!! Not the for the 1st time! For those who say they do say the alcoholic strength, I say not on all their wines.

They include photos of the rear label (I haven't checked all, but a random 8 wines all showed this). On these labels you can clearly see the alcohol percentage.

I used to buy a couple of bottles of their Toro Loco tempranillo now & again before it got rave reviews in the press, and it was constantly a good tasting red wine. About a year ago it became so popular our local Aldi never had stock !! Recently however the quality has been very indifferent; and 2 bottles in a week were found to be 'corked'. We didn't buy for a few weeks, and have tried it again (was OK) so hope the poor wine was a dodgy batch.

Delicious....now whilst me and the wife don't claim to be wine experts, our favourite wine is the Kooliburra Rose ...........it goes with Aldi Wagyu burgers, Aldi Breaded Scampi, Aldi Choceur Chocolate..................yes especially with chocolate, truth is it goes with anything ................just bought 12 bottles online that's another £1.20 saved on the store price. Online or in store where ever purchased it's a steal really at the price. Must say we prefer new world wines, oh the Kooliburra Shiraz is worth a try if you fancy a nice red at a reasonable.

Made a punchy punch using these amazing Aldi wines which punch well above their price; now I'm punch-drunk and putting on a Punch and Judy show while reading an old issue of Punch. I'm pleased as punch to have got such an amazing deal on these wines, which really pack a punch. Don't think I'll be punching in at work on time tomorrow, but I always just roll with the punches. I pull no punches when expressing my love for Aldi wines: the value and quality is a one-two punch and I'll happily get into a punch up with anyone who disagrees.

whilst you are correct that a metal screw top wine cannot be corked there are many conditions (faults) which people may refer to as 'corked' using it as a generic term....
several off the following DO occur in metal screw top wine.
e.g.
Acetaldehyde Smell of roasted nuts or dried out straw. Commonly associated with Sherries where these aromas are considered acceptable
Amyl-acetate Smell of "fake" candy banana flavoring
Brettanomyces Smell of barnyards, fecal and gamey horse aromas
Cork taint Smell of a damp basement, wet cardboard or newspapers and mushrooms
Butyric acid Smell of rancid butter
Ethyl acetate Smell of vinegar, paint thinner and nail polish remover
Hydrogen sulfide Smell of rotten eggs or garlic that has gone bad
Iodine Smell of moldy grapes
Lactic acid bacteria Smell of sauerkraut
Mercaptans Smell of burnt garlic or onion
Oxidation Smell of cooked fruit and walnuts. Also detectable visually by premature browning or yellowing of the wine
Sorbic acid plus lactic acid bacteria Smell of crushed geranium leaves
Sulfur dioxide Smell of burnt matches. Can also come across as a pricking sensation in the nose.
I would recommend the Budvar Merlot Cabernet blend (even though it is not ahem, Hungarian as the name would suggest), but that does not seem to be available online (as are a few other wines - Grapevine Merlot, Baron St Jean, Cotes Du Rhone, La Tinta Shiraz - check in store).

20 Jan 161#52
Massive recommendation for the £5 Muscadet and the Estevez Cabernet-Carmenere-Syrah.
Everyone's opinion of wines will vary wildly depending on individual taste, but I would be happier buying some of the more premium wines in Aldi, than any of the 'brands' that are sold at inflated prices in the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury's in order to promote them at half price. Particularly fond of the Cabernet Sauvignon in the Lot series, and the Exquisite Marlborough Sauvignon and Clare Valley Riesling. For sparkling, it has to be the Valdobbiadene Prosecco, for me. It would be nice if Aldi were to offer some online exclusives in addition to what's available in store though.
