Currently you can't find this deal on the ID Mobile website, and all previous version of the deal posted on here are expired, but you can still get it via a hidden deal.

Quidco will still work if you DON'T click the deal button. GO TO ID Mobile via Quidco, then copy/past the link below to add this deal to your basket ;-)

Note: Try it without the affiliate bit first (with it could stop Quidco tracking)-
http://www.idmobile.co.uk/buy?deal=81055723

If that doesn't work, this definitely does (at the moment anyway)-
http://www.idmobile.co.uk/buy?deal=81055723&affiliate=idmobile-hidden

EDIT: I've done the same thing with the Uswitch 4GB for £10 deal. You should be able to use this link to get quidco via the same steps as this deal.
http://www.idmobile.co.uk/buy?deal=80291487&affiliate=idmobile-hidden

Took me a while to work out, hope it's useful to some.

Also includes 5000 texts!

I've ordered and received 2 of these i am just signing up to the online account, it's showing my remaining allowance as 1gb (near as dam it) but my monthly contract section is showing my allowance as 500mb!!
not had any problems so far does it just show as 500mb but gives you 1gb?
decanay to scottpaul1973
12 Feb 16 #101
Yes, same for me. It shows 500mb under contract, and then a bonus 500mb in allowance. The bonus lasts 12 months, then it will stop and you'll just be getting the 500mb on your contract.

I'm on my way to London today too

I'd expect every network to be fast in London so probably not a true test. Try a speed test sometime in the morning and then after 3pm as Three apply speed caps at this point.
3mbps is just about ok. I get a lot faster on EE but I only really notice it if streaming iplayer

I haven't been able to test 4G yet. I'll be in London tomorrow, will try then if I can. Just tested 3G speeds here (low signal area) and it's a solid 3-4mb, which is double what I was able to get on EE, and 3x faster than O2. I though it was using EE, so not sure why it seems so much better, but it is.
shaggy
13 Jan 16 #92
What sort of speeds do you get ? I don't expect it to compare to EE but as long as it's not stupendously slow especially at peak times I'll probably go for this

Does iD use 3G or 4G? The £10 deal sounds good and is it capped data? Can you tether? Not that it bothers me much if you can't but it's nice to have
shaggy to shaggy
13 Jan 16 #89
Also do they increase prices every year in line with inflation like the other operators ?
decanay to shaggy
13 Jan 16 1 #90
4G and it is capped. I read that you can't tether, but it works for me, so I think you shuld be able to now, though that may change.

Use the same method from the op to get Quidco on that deal via this link - http://www.idmobile.co.uk/buy?deal=80291487&affiliate=idmobile-hidden

Basically, if you go through Uswitch, they get £10 or £20 out of it. Using this method, you get £5 instead :-)

I was having great trouble registering last night. The texts were taking a few hours to arrive, by which time the registration web page had expired. I was reluctant to phone customer services after the horror stories that I have seen here. Looks like I should have done that.

Tried again this morning and the text arrived within seconds, so looks like things are working better today. However, calls and data seemed to be working yesterday, so I assume that the registration is just to be able to access the online account.

I had same problem, so I phoned ID Mobile from mobile on 777, you have to wait whilst the auto voice menu goes through the options then after that it gives you your latest monthly allowance info then it gives you the option to speak to someone I think I chose option 3, for canceling or leaving ID Mobile, it then asked for my pin which is the last two numbers from my bank account followed by last two numbers of the ID Mobile phone number, then eventually you get put through to speak with the south Africa call center, they eventually sorted all my registration details for me, got me up and running! Phew what a faff that was

decanay to RedDemonic
12 Jan 16 1 #82
Yes, I had to phone up to register in the end, definitely something wrong with the SMS system. After I got off the phone I instantly received a text for everytime I hit the resend my pin button, was a lot of texts ;-)

Phone up and they will tell you the code. They picked up the phone straight away for me, surprising after some of the customer service comments on here :-P

So far I'm happt though. In this area I have a very weak signal with all providers, Vodafone doesn't work at all. This only shows 0-1 bar but so far hasn't dropped completely, which is similar to O2 and EE performance here.

Data over 3G is a lot faster and consistent than I had with O2. It's identical to how I remember EE, so expect that's what I'm actually connected to right now. Not tested 4G as no coverage here, but that's the same for me with all networks.

I think my plan also stated unlimited minutes within my online VirginMobile account but that actually referred to free "Virgin to Virgin" calls, elsewhere it was logged as 150/300 minutes. Check whether you were actually exceeding 300 minutes per month, as its a bit misleading. I never use that many mobile minutes - I have a landline because mobile signal (all networks) inside my home is pants.

11 Jan 16 #78
Awesome ill give this a go, it will be a bit of a gamble for me that's the only issue, I use to have the unlimited plan and decided to downgrade to the £5 plan the thing is they forgot to remove the Unlimited minutes from my plan, so I've practically been on ; Unlimited Mins, Unlimited Text and 250mb of data for £5 a month, scared to lose the Unlimited minutes in case they check my account

I explained that my lad was running out of data before the end of the month (on 250Mb / 300 mins/ umlimited texts £5 per month) and so they offered me 1GB data for £1 more.
At this point, I asked for my own Virgin sim to be put on same deal (mine was previously 125 mins 3000 texts 500MB £7.38 per month old tariff). So they increased his price by £1 but had to drop mine by £1.38 !

I tried to order a sim card from this company and have to say it been one of the most frustrating experiences ever. Tried to order it online for my wife and a couple of days later she gets an email saying some details may be incorrect and they will contact her but after a week still no word. Then the ring around merry go round starts as their phone number online sends you to the carphone warehouse helpdesk who say they can't deal with ID calls. Eventually speak to ID customer services and they say there's no contact for online order sales team to find out what the problem is. After a long email to customer support I get a one line reply saying sorry try this number instead which I ring and it's just an automated number that re-directs you to the first helpline number which the operator again says they can't help with. Even trying to cancel the damned thing meant speaking to three different people. Never gonna go near this company again.

3 do the retention deals for contract customers mostly not PAYG.

Got this offer a few weeks ago, customer service is better than Vodafone. Does pretty much what it says on the tin but app was a little slow updating minutes, text & data were fine.

Coverage wise - identical to 3 with less 4G than vodafone but faster 3G and my phone even roamed onto 2G EE at the weekend

I think the default cap includes a max of £5 overage. I'm not 100% sure. When you get the SIM, you can logon to their website and configure the cap according to the info in the email.

Took about 24 hours from order to receive DPD confirmed delivery notice.

honestly I wouldn't recommend going with ID,I work for Carphone Warehouse who own ID and they have shocking customer service, very amateur. they owe me in excess of £200 for a 30 day rolling contract I cancelled and every time I try to get the issue resolved customer service refuse to do anything. they promise to call you back but never do, I'm currently going through the ombudsman to get this resolved. look at the reviews on line....

Update - Some exciting plan features
If you've got a ShockProof plan that includes capping, say bye-bye to bill shock as your cap will be automatically set at 5, and you can monitor or edit this amount via your online account (under 'MyExtras'). If you go over your capped amount we'll stop your services rather than charge you extra.

If you look at the deal link the op gave, on the ID Mobile page it shows "shockproof" which as far as I know means that the allowance per rolling month is automatically capped, so be no way to go over, but reading the facebook info below looks like if you do use up any one part of your monthly allowance ie if you use all phone minutes then you may not be able to use anything else until your next month starts! someone correct me if I'm wrong?

I'm not happy with the new ID mobile sim you've fetched out.I have a friend who's just got a phone with you on ID and it come with the shock proof buffer, which is a cap so you don't go over that amount. My friend got a £5 cap which when she used 80% of this it put a hold on her phone, little did she no that she couldn't make any calls or text because she,d ran out of data shed put a bar on all of her allowance so it dies stop u going over the £5 capp but also stops you using your phone at all. Also she went on her online IDMobile account to buy more data which will be added to her bill she is also unable to use that. She has spoken to customer service and told she has to wait up to 3 working days so she's not had her phone working for nearly a week due to this shockproof cap.BE WARNED you will put a bar on all your monthly allowance if you use this service which no one pointed out when she got the contact. And wont be reimbursed because she allowed it without knowing the risk.

Never had one, but in my understanding, once you wish to cancel, you'll have to wait a full month until they stop charging you. But it might be a full month, so for example, it is mid January and you wish to cancel, so you'll have to wait until end of Feb. If I am wrong, please correct me. Ta.
