This is a great value 2 night/3 day break to Milan. The flight times mean you have a full three days in Milan. I've also picked a great place to stay, Affittacamere Scacco Matto which has good Tripadvisor reviews, is walking distance to Centrale Station but is also near a metro. There are some cheaper options a little further and places with shared bathrooms but I think this represents great value for money.
Flights are 28th-30th January (Thursday til Saturday). Enough time to shop til you drop, and Milan is a great place to do it, climb the Duomo for fantastic views and visit the famous last supper (recommended to book your tickets in advance).
2 nights Affittacamere Scacco Matto in Milan £77 @ booking.com
2 x return flights to Milan £24.64 @ Ryanair
Bus transfers get upon arrival €16PP/£23.82 for 2
Total £125.46/£62.73pp

Milan is a horrible city. People are rude and food is overpriced. Now, find me a weekend deal for Rome or Florence instead.

Rome is always cheap to get to, as is Florence (fly to Pisa) spend an hour taking pictures around the leaning tower and onto Florence .
Easyjet and Ryanair tend to fly from most northern airports,
For Rome stay across the river in trastevere, such a better place to stay than central Rome, been 3 times and much preferred being across the river, great restaurants and night out, rather than the set menu rubbish in central Rome
Ps agree with the Milan comments wasn't overly keen, although bagged tickets to the Milan derby, in the away end supurb, and we seeked out the oldest pizzeria in Milan and they were good pizza

I also had the Flights as £23.64, not £24.64.

I can't seem to get that hotel, Crowne plaza in a good location for £82 instead.

This is interesting as there was a deal the other day that sprung a discussion about Venice and Rome.
I've just come back from Milan for work. As great as it was to say I've visited there really isn't a lot in this city to see. Sure, the food is great and the Duomo area is quite cool but outside of the Cathedral there isn't a tremendous amount to see.
Navigli, the canal area, is often touted as a nice place to see but honestly it's just a few canals that don't have much more on Brindley Place up in Birmingham!
I honestly wouldn't recommend any of my friends to visit Milan. Sure, you can see the Last Supper painting (which admittedly is fairly iconic) but from memory I think it costs roughly €25 entry. Unless I missed something else major there isn't much reason to visit.
It's a nice city and the food is great but if you really want to go to Italy there are other far better cities you can choose.

Wow this seems incredible value for a city break. Hot!! If only I could take the time off work

I'm guessing Stansted only?

Yep - I know :-(
We are driving in a few months from NW and got parking, transfers and hotel for our short break for £60 so sometimes it can be cost effective.

I'd imagine so. Not much use for me living in Scotland. Tends to be more to actually get TO Stansted than it is to go abroad from there.
