Called EE today about cancelling contract as its a month away and said i could get a better deal through bt at £8 p/m which is 2gb internet unlimited texts and 1k mins i think and they offered me this deal.
EE network, 3gb internet 2k calls and unlimited texts for 9.99 p/m. Seems a good deal. I love ee been with them for 4 years never had a problem.
Just for anyone thinking about a new contract that wants low payments.

I disagree. Where I live (London) their coverage seems good for 4G at least.

Total rubbish .they have the highest % UK coverage and no iam not with them. I use 3 ,wife on ee and her coverage trounces 3.shame no good sim only for new customers

Disagree, I've moved from Cornwall to Wiltshire to Richmond and now to Manchester with work and travelled all over the country and EE has by far the best coverage, there are black spots with all providers so you may just be unlucky where you live, or maybe your phone isn't performing correctly?

Not true. Coverage was far worse in the mid 1990s.

Oh please. I've been with EE from inception, before that T-Mobile and before that One2One. The best they've offered me is £2.50 loyalty discount and I have multiple lines.

I feel you. I am still on a T Mobile SIM 16 plan. 3GB, 1000 mins and unlimited texts. The best EE could offer me was £16 for unlimited calls and minutes and 4GB data

My retention deal was a little different to this - I was told that I would get the 'standard' £9.99 deal (250MB data), but with a 3GB bolt-on for free.
i.e. 3.25GB, 250mins & unlimited texts.
250mins is more than enough for me, so I was more than happy with the deal.

mobilephonesdirect used to offer 144 quid in cashback for 4gb+unlimited minutes 12m sim only deal, but not any more. It's probably because of the new BT EE merger. But from top cash back new customers can get the same plan for 16.19 per month with 47.25 cashback, which works out as 12.25 per month.

I got this a couple of days ago so it might be a reasonably available retention offer, albeit for those in the last month.
Used exactly the same tactics, spoke to someone in the UK and politely asked for my PAC code. Ten minutes later and I had signed up on the above basis for the next 12 months.
I have had great EE signals and for £10 I was more than happy to stay with them.
