Just a word of warning with Lenovo, should your item develop a fault, it will have to go back to Germany (Medion) and the service is craap.

also I can tell you right now after having to return two of these,they have NO backlit keyboard and get hot with no sign on a fan coming on

The lack of a backlit keyboard is a real PITA on a small laptop which would otherwise be great for living room use. A backlit keyboard version of the 700 was shown at launch, but has yet to materialise on Lenovo's website.

The Lenovo website specifically states it DOES come with a backlit keyboard. Are you sure you are referring to the exact same model? Lenovo's vast range of models can be confusing at the best of times. Also, Quidco pay 5%. Don't know whether it will work in conjunction with a discount code but no harm trying. Looks a decent deal to me.

Not seen this latest model before - but it seems very good value for the price.
It has the same processor as the entry level Surface Pro 4 (which is about £850 with a keyboard).
Obviously the screen won't be as good, and no pen - but better to use as a laptop and has double the RAM.

yes I have this exact model, yes its getting returned and not replaced as Lenovo said the 11 inch does not have a backlit and they will not change the website to say this. no idea why they did offer 10% off but I need a backlit

My memories of Windows are of complete and utter agony. Clicking and clicking and clicking, constant error boxes and crashing. Is Windows 10 as efficient to use as OSX? For instance say I want to copy a file from one folder to a memory stick folder, could I open up two windows and drag the file between them? Do they still give you a yes/no box to put something in the recycle bin then again to recycle it?

Yes you can open up two windows and drag between them to copy a file. Think that has been around since Windows 95 let alone Windows 10!
You can turn off confirm delete to recycle bin - again that has been around since Windows 95 IIRC.
Or you can turn off recycle entirely and immediately delete.

I've had one of these for a few weeks. They are excellent. I paid £540 for it and still think it's a bargain.
No, there's no backlit keyboard... what do you expect for something this price and this slim?
Hot? I'm using it right now and have been for an hour. As per usual, it's slightly above room temperature. I've coded on it for hours, I've watched a film on it and I've even tried to game on it for a couple of hours (Hearthstone was a bit choppy, but still far faster than my mate's last gen Core M).
I've never had it crash and it's always been plenty fast enough. Unless I'm really loading it, it feels just as snappy as my Core i7 desktop. The only problem I've had is the touch pad doesn't register two-finger-dabs for a right click without a 30 second Registry change... it's a common Lenovo/Synaptics issue.

Spoke to the sales team, the website listing is the 'up to' list of features, but this specific version does not have that feature. Lol that's a new one for me, kinda misleading...
Anyway I asked if there were any other missing features, none apparently. Still tempted, but backlit keys would have been great for this one.

Got mine. It's rather nice. It doesn't however have a backlit keyboard. Lenovo have now added "(Optional)" onto the product page - an admission of their previously poor advertising I do believe.. Lets see if I can get a few more quid off...
