Not sure about the quality shoes that last for years claim. The leather is not what it used to be with the Chinese manufactured ones for sure.
If anyone wants quality Dr Martens boots they would need to buy either the Vintage Dr Martens ones still made here in England or sacrifice the tag altogether and buy Solovair branded ones from the NPS Shoes factory that once did Dr Martens.

Thanks for this, just bought a pair of docs, which are going back as the fit is terrible. I didn't know about NPS, but my original docs were solovair ones and lasted for ages, so I'll be popping over to Northampton at the weekend.

You can still buy DM's from the village outlet shop (although some of those prices are still high but must be cheaper than the shops!). My 1st pair of Solovair rejects cost me £5 and lasted me many years - in those days it was who you knew in the factories to get you the best prices!! The owners of the original DM factories in the village would turn in their graves if they saw some of the items being produced these days!!

Shame not many in my size 8 . that I like....my fault for having loads already at this price and less from the outlet.

Even at 50% off Dr martens are a rip. They're like pure plastic now
Glad I was lucky enough to get a made in England pair.

Why do you edit every single post? is it fixing spelling mistakes after you pointed mine out

I don't edit every post, just sometimes rather than creating another I have thought of an additional sentence or two..or in some instances spelling

Voting Cold isnt giving as good as you get it just made you look bad. maybe replying to the poster would have been enough.
To be fair Ive seen who have been given the VIP badge
There you go I gave you a like, as I said I did think your comment was helpful to others but I liked Elvis's post because it made me laugh I love Rowan Atkinson (names have capitals by the way) and I watch him everyday as daughter thinks he's hilarious. Anyway yes thats why I liked Elvis post as it made me laugh and I like to laugh

I give as good as I get, plain and simply admittedly...perhaps in that instance I should hold back...and yes not everyone likes others having an opinion about items...for the most part though I have found the majority of users on HUKD actually find it useful, and knowledge and help are the two things that earned the VIP badge.
It is sad when that can on seldom occasions get misconstrued but it does happen, and then you find people judge you in bad light. But it is strange that you liked the immature rowan atkinson bored comment and not my own if you found it useful.

I dont recall making quips in numerous threads Ive probably commented on things you've said as Ive commented on many things that many have said thats a forum.
I know your initial comment, I read it and thought it was very informative and helpful for people that are looking to purchase. The voting cold because of an immature response wa in itself an immature response but one that affects the site not the poster.
I personally don't think the longevity of a member means they know more or are worth more, we are all the same all customers and members of the site.
No you are free to comment just as everyone is, but stuck up comment was in relation to you having a dig regarding my spelling.

Strange then that for the past couple of weeks you have been making quips in numerous threads.
I think you will find my initial comment about Dr Martens was an opinion on the deal and I had not voted...the immature response was enough to then vote cold.
But yeah, someone that has been registered on this site for two months telling a contributing member for 8 years themselves how it is run....
Oh wait, I better not comment huh, I would be considered 'stuck up'

No you're a strange one for saying I love you  and I have a chip on my shoulder.
I dont have a problem with you nor do I care if you've disagreed with me previously on what I'm not sure as I cant recall.
Maybe in future you should give your opinion on the deal and say thats why youre voting cold instead of saying something like "Just for that I have pedantically voted the deal cold" as that will obviously cause a reaction. Imagine if everyone voted deals cold because someone said something they didn't like. That's not the way the sites meant to be run.
Just a little food for thought.
Happy New Year

I am a strange one? For not agreeing that Dr Martens are quality these days? Please do me a favour, put me on ignore, its clear you have a problem with me for disagreeing with you in another thread. If you want to consider me as as stuck up then your time is clearly better with input elsewhere.
Happy New Year xoxo
Oh and by the way, your mere comment here was the insult sly dig.....so are you attempting to 'mirror' the victim comment. I don't see any 'sly digs' on here from myself.

A chip on my shoulder? you're a strange one, I said in the thread you were spoiling that I wouldn't reply in there.
I merely commented here and you replied with an insult/sly dig, get over yourself no need to always play the victim when you disagree with someone and something.
This thread is about Dr Martens and not about cicobuff, you voted cold because elvis was bored by your comment, lets just leave it there

Sorry to hear you are immature to be able to cope with a factual paragraph on the quality of modern day Dr Martens. Just for that I have pedantically voted the deal cold, just like the crappy Chinese Docs I bought a few years ago
