WHAT! This resolution used to be standard on 32" screens and above. Get real and don't believe the hype.

and? on 5.5" worth of screen it makes bu66er jack sh*t all difference. Sure, on a 50" TV it's instantly noticeable, but for the extremely slight improvement, the sacrifice in battery will be far, far noticeable

Having had a 720p and 1080p phone, both 5 inch screens one after the other I couldn't tell the difference - both were just fine. It's about the screen quality as well as the resolution.

This would give it the advantage of longer battery file.
Also, 15 or so years ago, when non-techies didn't know what an 'app' was, I was happily using productivity apps on my Palm PDA that ran at a resolution of 160x160.

Why don't you just go for the Smart Ultra 6
Pondis
12 Dec 15#3
the Smart Ultra 6 is this rebadged apparently, though it has a better screen for £5 more. I know what I would buy

The SU6 is a re-badged Blade S6 LUX, which is an upgrade of the S6 Plus.

The vodafone smart ultra 6 is almost the same phone but with a full HD display but lacks the dual sim capability.
I'm very happy with my SU6 but I wish it had dual sim slots.
Personally if dual sim is not important get a SU6.

I agree, Dual SIM would be a great feature. But if SIM2 only supports 2G, it is much less useful.

And just in case anyone hasn't heard yet, Vodafone have issued an OTA upgrade for the Ultra Smart 6 to get you to Android 5.1.1. There are also some heavy rumours on various forums of an upgrade to 6.0.

I've already received the Android 5.1.1 update, lets hope the rumours are true about SU6 getting the Marshmallow update aswell

the one advantage of the lesser res will be better battery life.screen on time will be couple hours more.hoe much content on a smartphone is actually full hd as aposed to jist hd.most youtube is just hd

apart from you use your phone right next to your face and the TV is too far away to see individual pixels.

So it's not as good as full hd. Get your facts right. If you haven't been to school, open a resource on imaging and how it works. People who pay more for 4k or full hd screens ain't no idiots. Full HD screens are better than 720. Now get it.

Strange.......when the moto g first came out everyone was raving about the great screen. Looks like you've been swayed by all the bs. Or maybe there's something wrong with your screen.

The "all-singing, all-dancing" IPhone 6 & 6s screens are 740p & 750p respectively: NON full HD.... :smirk: No complaints there from the Apple fanboys propping up the American economy.

My su6 upgraded to 5.1.1 and now won't restart. Initially kept switching itself off . then kept going into a powered by android screen and turning self off back to powered by android screen cycle. Won't restart. Bought from Amazon in past month. What are my options? Will it work again. Or is this what they call bricked?

Try starting it in recovery mode... (You have a few options - I'd try wiping the cache partition first)
put in 2A charger, press and hold power button, for a while...

You can't compare a phone screen's resolution to a TV's. One is primarily for moving images, the other primarily for text, not the same at all.
You can tell the difference between 720 and 1080 on a 5" phone screen. Probably not on a 32" tv. Not saying it's a deal breaker by the way, just pointing out apples and Oranges and all that...

50'' tv would normally be 10-20 feet away when you are watching it, a mobile phone is hardly a foot away kid. It is noticeable. I'm not gonna get into stupid argument with people who ain't have a clue what they are talking about.

the screen on the 4.5inch one looked great in 720p, 5 inch not so much. No need to jump down my throat for saying 720p will look bad at 5.5 inches, my screens working fine thanks despite the average ppi.

I paid 99 notes delivered for my SU6, it should last 2 years. If you want to spend more money for higher resolutions no problem. Just include the price you're paying each time you take a pop. My wife effectively has a new iPhone every 2 years paying some £200 a year more than me. If money was no object the argument might have more merit. In day to day usage the phone 100% usable.

is that even english?? Noticeable, maybe, just, but is the lower def really 'poor'? if you truly think so then fine, but that shows you to be the kid as it would still have been high standard just a few years ago. and I still maintain the higher res is hardly worth the battery drain to be a reason to reject at this price bracket, Dad.
