I have had the xiaomi m2 for nearly 3years and it hasn't put a foot wrong, its like a rock, I've dropped it loads of times and the screen has never broke. as for your question, I had a giffaf sim in my phone for about a yr and noticed that the 3g speed was slow in my area, so I changed to a virgin sim (ee) and the speed is a lot better (Stockport area) never had a problem with getting a signal tho, just the speed with giffaf was average at best.

Hi. I thought Topcashback only give cashback on Gearbest USA orders. Have you managed to get it with the normal Gearbest site i.e. orders coming from China or Hong Kong?
scooby555
6 Dec 152#26
COLD purely because if something goes wrong Gearbest/Banggood systematically ignore you, and wear you down until you go away, so this is part of the product i.e. the service.
Once you open a ticket, they change it to processing and it stays that way until..........forever. Any subsequent tickets raised for that order are then put on an automatic ignore list and set to "processing" as opposed to "open".
Live chat - terminate your chat if your on the ignore list, if you raise a paypal claim they will ask for it to be returned at your cost, at the cheapest method possible, which will cost you and may not be economically feasible.
Ordered quadcopter - came used, everythig missing except the quad and remote, SD card had images on it, was clearly a secondhand or ex demo repacked they offered $6 only when Paypal got involved, thank god PP upheld my claim and didn't even ask me to return it to China, I actually messaged them direct and asked them to manually look at my claim, they were brilliant to be fair.
All I am saying is, beware, worst service ever experienced and I have been buying China stuff for many years. Dealxtreme and Focalprice have always been good when things go wrong.
Dont get me wrong, thanks for posting OP - great phone, great price but check some reviews especially for high value items, risks are ok for low value stuff, buy on the famous auction site instead from power seller.

Yes but you still have 3 months to leave feedback and at least your getting 45 days days minus delivery to check the phone out, plus you also have 180 days via paypal to raise a claim (I think). With gearbest, if its DOA then your stuffed on the spot.
Also pay by credit card on checkout not from your PP balance or DD, that way you are covered for purchases over £100 and you can get your credit card company involved.
scooby555
6 Dec 15#39
As stated before, your mileage may vary and check reviews and make your decisions, it all depends on the value of the item as well on wether refund/replace or wear you out until you go away, I am just posting my experience and one of an experienced buyer from China sites, must admit gearbest is much worse than banggood in terms of getting a response.

6 Dec 152#44
These phones are so cheap because they don't care about testing or quality control. If something doesn't work they know people won't return them due to postage costs and hassle. The OS is not properly optimised so the specs don't give the performance you'd expect. You might be lucky and get a good one but it is just as likely you'll end up with a laggy and slow phone.
gads to chrisbass
6 Dec 15#46
In my experience, the quality of Xiaomi products is very high. Maybe other phone manufacturers aren't up to that standard, I don't know.
Your point about Xiaomi knowing people won't return due to postage is not true, as they are not intended for the international market. As a rapidly growing company it's in their interest to do everythin well. Of course you're right that you get less consumer rights from the seller, but that's part of getting the low price.
I haven't tested this phone obviously, as it's not available yet but previous reviews of Xiaomi phones have been generally positive about performance for the price. The OS not being properly optimised is fairly common for Android devices in general. You hear about buggy and laggy OSes for the major global manufacturers too.
