Got some delivered yesterday, will be sending back asap. Was only to be used occassionaly but, wow...
Doesnt do 5.1. properly, the rears are pathetic and the sub completly drops out every few mins (turn off and on to get sound out of it again) and a constant loud hum/fizz from all speakers. shame, would have been a decent little system. The remote makes little difference to settings.
I do miss my z5500's!
So time for some merry hell with ebuyer now!

I actually ended up with three sets going through their RMA process with the screen. They sent me entire sets instead of replacing the control pod.

if you pay £30 for surround speakers would you really expect them to sound anything other than rat trapped in a tin can?

Sounds like Radiohead cover of a UB40 song.

Nowhere, it would probably stay where you put it.

Mine still work after nearly 14 years and look like they have plenty of life left, only cost me £1 through the work Christmas raffle!

What's hard about 'designing' 5 cuboids of varying sizes? That's all that's been copied AFAIK.

I like how they have tried to make them look like the Z-5500

I think "Xenta" is a make that just Ebuyer use for cheap Chinese products. I imagine they got a company to make them look close to Z5500 because they used to sell the Logitechs like mad on Ebuyer and they were probably the most popular set. This was probably a way to get people who didn't want to spend £200-300 on a set to buy some.
I'm still rocking two sets of z5500s

I clicked on them because I saw the image and thought they were Z5500s for £35  use to hame some a few years ago in my gaming PC set up. were fantastic, the Z5500s not the Xentas

Just thinking that, I used to own the Z5500 which was an amazing set. Shame to see these copied with such poor focus on quality...given logitech did all the hard work!

Ha ha yeah, I used to use ebuyer all the time years ago when they were one of the cheapest. Got my Z-5500s in 2004 and still sounding great. My brother heard them and bought some, and my old mother heard them and bought a set for the living room. Wonder how many women in their 60s rock a THX setup, heh. Though both of theirs got the dimming lcd screen problem, Logitech changed them for them for free which is nice. My old one still lights up fine.

The sound wasn't great and one of the jack holes came loose, which I don't expect with normal usage, so I wasn't impressed. Good for a student/starter but spend a few quid more and you're on a different level.

Yep, bought a set for the office pc, amp died on it after a few months - through normal usage... sound was general at best, when i plugged my old 2.1 speakers back in it was miles better - says a lot.

the sound is awful on these - i had a set - they sound like the speakers you see for sale in poundland, very tinny even with a subwoofer and despite the remote - very little you can do to alter it - they went in the bin.

The amp is in the sub so you'd need that. just get a cheap 2.1 system or if you move around a lot one of those usb powered mini speakers with a baby sub that clips onto the top of the screen

had these, they are ****
there is a buzzing hum from theses and it's not deep / bass-y at all, I changed them to a 2.0 creative t40 II set which was a nice upgrade

I also had these and they broke after a few months. I don't know if it's an isolated incident, but I would steer clear.
