Judging by the posts in this thread, I believe people would be better off spending £313 on English lessons, rather than anything from France.

Wow that was really called for its a deals website not an evaluate my English website, on top of which there's plenty of chance it could be an unintentional autocorrect fail or you could be criticising people that struggle every day with such things like dyslexia.

Probably been asked a million times, but what's the warranty etc. like when buying from Amazon France? Would I have to ship to France in the event of a problem?

I've seen people guess that you return it through Amazon uk, but as it's a separate account I would suggest confirming this with Amazon support before ordering!

I recently had to return mine so I can tell you first hand.
Amazon UK want nothing to do with it and its not even on their systems (even though my xbox had a uk return address label on it)
To contact amazon.fr you must use [email protected] (unless your fluent in French).
After contacting [email protected] having the return approved then requesting for the return instructions in English as they sent them in French it was fairly straightforward. After 30 days it becomes MS responsibility so Im not sure.
My reason for returning it, you cannot disable the game saves from saving to the cloud unless you run in off-line mode or dont connect to the internet at all. So if like me you have an unstable broadband connection and dont want to lose or get your game saves corrupted get a PS4

As someone who doesn't have an xbox one yet - does the Elite controller take the same battery and/or play and charge kit as a regular xbox one controller, or do I need to look out for an Elite specific one?

It takes the same play and charge kit as the standard controller.

23 Dec 15#31
It doesn't take the same play and charge kit actually, the battery covers are different, I'm not sure about the official play and charge kit but I know 3rd party ones won't fit, but the USB cable that comes with the controller is long enough to keep plugged in all the time

23 Dec 15#45
I have two (brand new and unused), but I still went ahead and bought it.
JUST BUY IT MAN! (it's less than three nights out). Stick it on a credit card and then balance transfer in onto an AA 22month 0% BT card with 0% transfer fee. That way it'll cost you less than £20 a month with no interest over that period.
I actually bought the: Xbox One 1TB/Fallout 4/Fallout 3 (DLC) a few weeks ago for £240
followed by the Xbox One/ROTTR/TRDE/COD- BO3/Wolfenstein/Evil Within bundle the week after for under £264
Always wanted the Xbox One Elite and had it in my 3 Camels account with a trigger price set @ €450, so when it dropped a good €50 under that figure, it was a no-brainer.

23 Dec 151#46

'AA' and 'Post Office' are both 'Bank of Ireland' cards AFAIA.
What's the % fee to transfer a balance onto the 'PO' card?
IMHO, anyone who wants to take advantage of the cheaper Euro deals should seriously look into getting a 'Halifax Clarity' credit card for foreign purchases and the 'AA' credit card which has 22month @ 0% (with 0% fee) on which to dump the Halifax balance before it costs you a penny.
It's basically a 22 month interest free loan by all accounts, so long as you divide the total transferred to the 'AA' card by 21 an ensure you pay that minimum every month.
malachi
23 Dec 15#52
Not sure but I only use the PO card for foreign purchases such as this one so I dont get billed for overseas charges. I always pay my cards of straight away, interest fee or not.

Terrible advice. if you cant afford to buy a mere £300 console, you shouldnt be buying one.
Amazes me how so many people get by without any savings and waits for their monthly pay so they can repeat the cycle of buying more stuff they cant afford.

24 Dec 15#56
Ordered one - cost just over £300 - seems a bargain. Set up a Revolut card account on my mobile and credited it with £305 from my uk bank account. Order seems to have gone through - got an order number and delivery date estimate. No money gone out from anywhere yet. Hope it all works out as it is a good bargain. Deal seems to have expired now as the price has gone back up to 499 euros.

Mine was due to arrive by 31st December, it actually arrived today. I emailed Amazon.fr ([email protected]) and they refunded me the 9 Euro delivery charge for the delay making it even cheaper. Sold the controller to CeX for £101 and bought a regular controller (with play and charge kit) for under £40 from shopto.net. Cheers OP, a great deal!
