Step 2 - sign in at the top right
Step 3 - scroll down to "This month's free games"
Step 4 - click on download from xbox store
Step 5- click Buy (repeat this with the other free/games with gold games)
Step 6 - go on your xbox one
Step 7 - go to my games and apps
Step 8 - scroll to the end (your xbox 360 games will show here or possibly auto download)
Step 9 - click on the game to download
Step 10 - Thats it, wait for it to download and you can play
New free games get added in the middle of the month and the old ones are put back to regular price, the xbox 360 games you keep forever and the free xbox one games require an xbox live gold subscription to play but if you run out you can get them back when you resubscribe.
On a side note... Darksiders on the 360 for £1.50 is a bargain.

I have used Paypal to purchase on xbox one. Right after purchase i removed details immediately so as no trace left.

You could always buy Microsoft credit then use that - I believe that means you're then not prompted to add CC details but you might want to check that.
Any idea how i can get the free content without adding my CC? I don't really want to add it. Thank you!

Anyone else managed to get the discount on The Escapists: The Walking Dead? On the deals page it says it is 33% off but it's still showing full price on the game page...

You have to purchase from xbox.com website.
Login to your xbox account on xbox.com purchase any free games with gold etc and then when you go on on xbox one games will appear on right hand side in your games and apps folder :smiley:

Thanks jackanape. I was under the impression that now all free 360 games on live will be compatible with xbox one due to the backwards compatibility download. I know that not many disc versions are compatible yet.

All the free 360 games starting from last month should work on the Xbox One.
What I do is just claim them on Xbox.com then set them up to download when I get home (not sure if they automatically download - will test that today!)

@topper. Not all the free Xbox 360 games work on the Xbox One. But for the ones that do you first have to choose to download them on the 360 (or select them through the Games with Gold tab on the One) after that you merely have to scroll down to the My Games & Apps tab (bottom of the first screen when you boot up the console). Once in there, scroll all the way to the right of your installed games and you will see any Xbox 360 games that are eligible to download and play. Just choose to install them and away you go.
If you had the games on disc, rather than downloaded, just put the 360 disc in your One and you'll get the same prompt to download the game. Easy.
