This is probably a glitch in their system so not sure how long it will last.
If you are looking to renew your xbox live subscription, sign in to the xbox live website, choose Xbox Live, Join Xbox Live Gold, then select one of the three options below (it still £5.99 for a month) but as soon as you go to the next screen, there is an option for £1 a month.
Make sure to turn off auto-renew once you are done since the price is likely to go back to normal once they have fixed this!
Enjoy while you can!
P.S, so far, I have only tested this on the UK store and not sure if it works outside the UK.

Good old days  I tried but you can't. It only lets you purchase this option if you are renewing for 1 month.

No it does not, the 12 month deal is at £39.99 so why would they put the 1 month deal at £1? As I said, it is a glitch on their system and they are trying to fix it, put it back to £5.99 a month.

It was officially announced on the 20th with the first batch of Black Friday deals and even already mentioned in the teaser video leading up to Black Friday. Hardly a deal.

I think everyone is entitled to a free month trial and your son hasn't claimed his yet. Cancel straight away after or they'll charge you full price on renewal next month.

Odd, pretty sure he's had other trials in the past, and has also been a subscribing member.
Any ideas if trial members can claim the freebie games?

We used to get for £1pm on 360 for quite a few months. I always thought it was the offer came up because I pressed the B button when asked if wanted to renew :stuck_out_tongue:

This came up as 0 for me, just tried it out and i can play on xbox live, just had a quick blast of WAW Zombies(the best one), and once done go into your account and switch of auto renew.
Free gold for a month, allow me to have a few blasts as BO2 again.
Oh and you can remove your payment method via your console after you have done this.

Unlike myself who left the payment details on for a few weeks whilst the 8 year old boy had an unknown spending spree of £45.
Fortunately it wasn't as a greater amount as a neighbour whose child racked up a £500 spend!
