played the game for 10 years, but gave up as it got boring and I wasn't going to pay over £30 for this expansion - but this may tempt me back.

Yes, it's a surprisingly broad and varied game. If you've never played it you won't understand this but....I developed over 40 toons, and got at least 2 of each class to level 90 (max). Had full heirlooms for every class, and started setting myself challenges, such as getting a new character to level 60 without buffs, looms or help from anyone, or dying. So yes, eventually it got boring - but a new expansion opens up more playing area.

Not played the game but the film coming out next year looks amazing. WOW is still going strong in many ways. The brand still has many miles left in it.

Played wow since release, and this expansion was pretty decent IMO, brings some decent elements to the game. Miss Wotlk myself.

I got pee'd off with the 'Pokemon' (pet battles) and Minecraft (garrison) aspect. It felt like Blizzard were grasping at straws and the game had no direction. So not played for about 9 months and must admit at times I itch to play again.

Dont bank on it. WOD is without question the worst expansion ever. Its raid or die. There is nothing to do but that. The garrison thing destroyed any social aspect of the game and giving people access to professions through the garrison they didn't need to grind to learn killed the economy. The no fly thing was also a major disaster. You cannot give people flying for 4 expansions and then regress it like that. Its just not on.

Don't bank on being able to fly any time soon either as it takes several months to grind the rep and do the required quests to be able to fly in Draenor. I used to play wow religiously. Now you would need to pay me to play it.

Utter tripe. Cataclysm is widely regarded as the worst expansion for good reason. WoD has been well received and reviewed by the community. The no flying thing was very smart as it re-introduced a bit of mystery to the world you could not just fly over every zone straight away. As for unlocking flying, it can be comfortably done in a week - 3 days at a push.

Cataclysm was a joke agreed, but it at least had the excuse that Blizz remade the entire world so you could fly in the old areas. MOP and WOD have no such excuses for being crap and yet for all that, raid wise, FLs is still by a country mile, a better raid experience than all of the raids they have done in MOP and WOD since then put together.

As for the full rep and quest chains being done in a week? To a new player who is still at level 90? Now who's talking elitist tripe? And yes, it was so well received by you and half a dozen others online who like to be edgy and different they lost 3m subs in record time and had to put it back in.

You don't fundamentally change a game because a few idiots think its a good idea. Questing in WOD was NEVER fun. It was slow, boring and tedious. Dailies were even worse.

I don't know about that, seeing Ragnaros's legs was pretty legit and also a great fight to end Firelands! :smile:
