Recently launched Wileyfox Swift 4G Dual SIM unlocked Smartphone, usually £129.99, runs CyanogenOS, a privacy oriented version of Android, related to the well known CyanogenMod firmware.

Phone is unlocked so works with any network, can take two micro-sims and a memory card simultaneously. Battery is easily swappable (a nice feature these days).

- 2GB Ram
- 16GB onboard storage
- upto 32GB micro SDHC card (though mine runs happily with 64GB)

Was the same price last week for one day, Wileyfox's 'Grey Thursday'! Guess they sold a bucket load then so are having another go.

Only downside is that there aren't too many cases and covers available yet, but you can get Orzly branded tempered glass screen protectors from Amazon/ebay.

This really is no better than the Andriod phones you can get from China. In fact it is just a generic rebranded phone from China just with advertising stating how British it is!

yea I was also looking at this phone, but I need a phone with good camera thats why I was thinking fox, I also looked at other brand such at elephone p6000 pro and umi emax mini, was set on buying umi but found out it dosnt have led notifications, so still looking for a budget phone with good specs and decent camera.

Well I just use it for whats app facebook etc. but it seems plenty fast enough for me. have slapped a 64gb card in it with music and maps installed and it seems to perform perfectly. No lags or lockups.

The camera takes pictures which are !adequate" not sure the fox is more advanced enough to be worth more than twice the price, having said that at some point I want a much better specced camera so will either go for a good dual sim android OR a dual sim windows 950 (android is looking more likely since MS dropped their android app integration :\)

None of my chargers seem to fit the Swift.

They don't click into place last like I'm other phones & just fall out.

Tried 3-4 leads in the house that we use every day with no joy

Obviously supplied lead is ok but this worries me so slightly

Any one else have this issue?

Wow!!.....got mine last night....initial reaction....very nice device.... looks great. (even the packaging looks great!!) Performance wise - UI is very slick, fast and responsive. Everything working and had a Cyanogen update striaght after initial boot. Camera appears fine, but yet to fully test that. Sound system is brilliant. Only things missing from it are WiFi 5.0 mhz and NFC which I had on my old Sony M2. For under a £100 quid....no complaints. :sunglasses:

Given their lack of accessories and minimal web site features I expect it'll be a while before they get around to dealing with returns, though perhaps Amazon will punt some through Warehouse Deals.

Free within the first week or if you return the item as not fit for purpose intended or some other reasons, not free if it's just that you changed your mind.

None that I recall seeing or hearing of, though given the nuge number of Swifts they've shifted I suppose the might try something similar with the Storm - suppose it depends on margins and quantity of product available vs. demand.

Amazon purchases in November and December are returnable until January 31st of the following year, so you could always order one at the cheap price and keep it, ideally unopened, for six or seven weeks and then return it for a full refund if you haven't changed your mind or done something with your existing phone(s) in the meantime. Tell that to my 4 year old galaxy S2 that's been through two battery changes... Still works like it did on day 1, and it runs a relatively recent version of cyanogenmod so its as up to date as the latest phones today.

Had mine 2 weeks and happy so far. Seems good and liking cyanogen.

Haven't tried GPS yet.

Battery just about lasts a day for me.

Only issue I've had so far is screen sometimes ignores the brightness setting and gets stuck on a brightness, often full brightness. When it happens changing the setting doesn't do anything but it seems to sort itself after a bit so not a major issue and assuming it's probably a software bug.

3 apps which can be uninstalled straightaway isn't exactly 'full of bloat' imo. By the time the battery is as knackered as the battery on the willy is new, it will be out of date anyway. So yeah, easy choice really.

A good way of slowing things up is to use a credit card that is on or over its limit, so long as it doesn't cost you extra, or better yet, a credit card no. that has been replaced (but is still otherwise valid datewise) - that way Amazon will give you five days of reminders to update your payment details - one way of saving a temporarily discounted price until you want to pay for it (or have a think about it before committing yourself!).

Shame it isn't 1080p, and has a poorer CPU and crap battery life compared to the smart 6 ultra which is often £100. I bet a lot of phone manufacturers are seething with rage at ZTE and Vodafone for ruining the budget end market.
maxp779 to jaydeeuk1
4 Dec 15 1 #55
Smart ultra 6 comes loaded with bloat and the battery is irreplaceable so when that dies your phone is as good as dead.

Wileyfox swift has good battery life a strong modern quad core, removable battery and bloatless cyanogenmod. Easy choice IMO.

I've had the phone for a month with no complaints, it's fast, really excellent battery life, and duel SIMs have proved really useful.
But it's the Cyanogen OS which is so impressive (based on Android 5.1.1).
If you are after a 5" Android phone with these specs and a UK warrantee at this price it's hard to beat.

Really tempted by this. Finally dual sim active. Non active dual sim have the same functionally as taking the cover off and cellotaping a sim on the phone.
Says on Amazon that the dual SIM, one can only do 2G. My main sim is 3. That would roam to pick up another carrier for 2g calls and texts? The other sim would be 4g EE data.

I see what your saying, as 3 used to fall back to Orange/EEs 2G network (less common now and only in remote areas), but the 3 SIM itsself will not work in a 2G phone/slot. HTH.

4 Dec 15 1 #30
Just replace the battery in your Nexus 5. For some reason, the batteries in the Nexus 5 have a short life span, the wifes went really bad about 3 months ago, wouldnt even last 6 hours. Bought a replacement battery from eBay and now it lasts the whole day with 60-70% left.

It's fairly easy to replace too, theres plenty of Youtube guides.

This is no better than the Redmi 2 pro for example, which can be bought for less and has off screen buttons.
Before this phone goes all Moto G.
I have both, will be sending the swift back or giving it to a relative I think.

It *is a bargain just saying that it's not the the only phone for this price / spec.

My own experience is that the 8GB of the 1GB/8GB Moto G is too mean for storage space (with not much left after Android's share), so a better comparison would be with the 2GB/16GB Moto G, the same as this Wileyfox, but at a much higher price compared to today's Wileyfox deal. HTH.
