Should have said 'thought I had cancelled' from Game - online support lied and said it had been cancelled when actually it hasn't! Terrible customer service, can't get through on the phone so kicked up a fuss on Twitter and they called me. They have no idea when it will arrive!
Luckily I managed to cancel the Amazon order, can't afford to pay out for 2 of the bloody things. Unfortunately it means I have no idea when my son's birthday present will be here!

Give it time. The Wii U is a commercial failure and a dying console so before you know it, it'll be available for £180 or less with actual physical games. Yeah sure, I like my Wii U but doesn't hide the fact that it's still a commercial failure.
Nintendo itself ruined the latest Mario Tennis for Wii U by releasing it ahead of time. Star Fox Zero gets delayed, Mario Tennis pays the price.

I thought this website was about getting it CHEAPER which makes it a DEAL not being more pricier if a cheaper option is available. *smh*
Nintendo fanboys think they can get away with everything.

Sure, I understand - any comment on here is a matter of opinion & yours is a valid as anyone else's. My point was really that buying an xbox for more money wouldn't allow you to play the games you can on a Wii U so your point isn't really relevant. Some aspects of the Wii U you wouldn't get by trying in a shop anyway, for example being able to be playing a game on the TV then continue playing on the gamepad while someone else watches something on the TV. However, if you found playing the Wii U isn't a pleasant experience & recommend buying an xbox then you obviously aren't too fussed about the differences between one console & another so for you an xbox is probably a better choice. Me on the other hand, I'm not interested in the games on the xbox so paying more for one would be stupid. Each to their own of course.

I was just giving the consoles a try and not many places you can try to play all 3 consoles in my local tescos.
Sometimes the buyer might not be a scholar like you on gaming consoles or mind reading  .
I found the Nintendo Wii not a good product for myself after playing around with it. You may have differ with me, but we all have a right to our own opinion. Whether people take my opinion or not that is totally a different issue!

I'm gutted, I bought this from Game on Black Friday for £239 announced as one of their Black Friday deals, then they put the price down to £219 online only today, when Black Friday supposed to be the big discount day.
Whats the chance of them refunding the £20 difference, or giving in store credit. That kind of sucks doing this!
MadeInBeats to Jakena

It's strange isn't it that you never see people in any deals other than Wii U ones shouting out random prices... "ummm, I'll buy the iPhone 6 when it's £54 and 23 pence, and not a penny before... plus has a free magic lamp with 3 wishes included"... it's just weird and utterly inane to see and read over and over.
Could you return it in-store for a full refund and just repurchase at the new price. Depends if it's worth the hassle / petrol / postage etc...p.s. they have a live chat system on their website that doesn't say it's not working at this hour... worth a shot.
mad...cancelled and ordered an xbox...so confused right now

PEGI is an official board... mistakes like creating games that don't exist into existence, giving them an official title (Minecraft: Wii U Edition) and going as far as rating it and then publishing the rating... I mean, someone who works at PEGI may have taken a lot of acid on that day, it's possible, but to say it exists would be the more logical conclusion.
bernardsfingers
30 Nov 15#40
I'd say the fact that Minecraft Story Mode is being released on the Wii U & has been officially confirmed but doesn't yet have a release date & also hasn't yet been rated by PEGI might mean - possibly - that the 'news' you're so sure about might just have been a mistake. I obviously don't know but then again neither do you - if it was 'official' then every news site wouldn't have then retracted the story the next day. I'm hoping it gets released on the Wii U but I'll wait until it's confirmed officially before getting too excited.
MadeInBeats
30 Nov 15#39
It was on the PEGI site because it was officially rated and they had a copy of the game. What, you reckon someone had a few whiskeys and thought it would be a good laugh to just invent Minecraft Wii U????? Where's the statement from PEGI or Nintendo stating it was a mistake, it doesn't exist ?
bernardsfingers
30 Nov 15#38
That's not true but is simply a guess on your part. Something that appeared on a website before being taken down shortly afterwards - of which all traces were quickly deleted - is hardly 'officially rated by the PEGI board'. Unless of course you work at PEGI then I'll admit you may know more than most people. However, anything you have based on that bit of 'news' is just speculation - particularly the 'it officially exists and is finished and ready to go' which is clearly nonsense. Whether Minecraft eventually gets released on the Wii U in the future is unimportant as far as the original question goes as it remains unconfirmed at the moment.

Does anyone know for sure if minecraft is coming to the Wii u? Thanks
bernardsfingers to oolie2006

No - it hasn't been officially confirmed so nobody knows for sure if it's coming to Wii U.
MadeInBeats to oolie2006
30 Nov 15#37
It hasn't been announced officially, but it has been officially rated by the PEGI board, so it officially exists and is finished and ready to go. The only reason it won't be released at this point is if the the people who paid for it to be made decide for some reason they want to cancel it or can't find a willing publisher.
Minecraft Story Mode is officially announced for Wii U.
Moving into speculation mode again, people seem to think that since Minecraft: Story Mode has been announced this makes Minecraft more likely to see release on Wii U. There was also the apparent 'leak' suggesting that Minecraft Wii U had been officially rated by PEGI but the page has since been removed. Make of that what you will.

Delivery is up to 10 days from Game, fine if you want it for Christmas but not if you need it sooner. Cancelled and ordered from Amazon instead as I need it before Friday. Phew! That's all I needed from Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Not as cheap as I hoped but better than no discount.

All speculation about the new console stuff! Nintendo have only said they would reveal it next year, so far!
Wii U schedule for next year is looking very dry, with Zelda and Star Fox. I believe they will show Pikmin 4 and boost it with another 2 or 3 releases once they are out next year, the Wii U will be officially dead.
But its a great console with loads of games which are absolute gems!

30 Nov 15#28
This is complete speculation and optimism but Argos stock for Mario Maker version has gone from completely out of stock/unavailable to availiable in 4-5 days. Maybe we'll see a price reduction in the run up to Christmas?
noahsdad to AperturePixel
30 Nov 15#31
(1) They definetly won't have much stock in stores and online stock will be limited, it is Argos after all.
(2) Can't see any exciting details from this item from Argos, and even then the chances of getting hold of it will be slim.
Despite Amazon's reluctance to offer any decent Wii U deals, they still seem the best chance of something decent to me.

Oh and if so what's the ETA
bernardsfingers
30 Nov 15#27
I wasn't really disagreeing but can't see how they can manage to sustain that length of a gap without releasing more Wii U games - although I guess they may well have more games coming after Christmas which they haven't officially announced for some reason. Pikmin 4 is supposedly ready for release but not sure what else they might be working on in addition to preparing for NX. I'll be happy if they plan to continue with the Wii U for another year as I don't have any plans to buy another console for the foreseeable future.

Do you find playing on consoles instore a generally pleasant experience otherwise? Why waste 'a little more' money buying an xbox? Either you want to play Nintendo games & have to buy a Wii U or you want to play xbox games & then you need to buy an xbox - you can't really buy one when you want the other.

Highly debatable, as Very had like what 3 units and it was a VIP account holders only deal, and very argos-ish in nature.

Just as you say, the short development time it will have, I cant see Nintendo officially announcing at E3 for a release in the same year, it's not enough time for marketing and allowing third parties to develop games. I completely agree this would be a huge gap, as there is pretty much nothing of note on the Wii U release schedule. I would love to be proven wrong and see the NX released next Christmas, but if it does it will hit the same problems as the Wii U of having a very poor launch game line up.
bernardsfingers
30 Nov 15#18
Sorry if that came across as rude (didn't mean it to be), I just wondered on what basis you think that it's 'highly unlikely' that Nintendo will release the NX next year & instead wait until Christmas 2017? Earlier this year I would have said it would be unlikely for Nintendo to release the NX next year due to the short time-frame but looking at the Wii U schedule it just seems like there's nothing new being developed for it & not sure how much sense it would make for a major hardware/software company to have nothing to sell for 18 months. Obviously, who knows what Nintendo's plans are - the Wii U is great as it is & if Zelda U does turn out to be the final Nintendo-developed game released on it then at least it will hopefully go out with the biggest bang of all!

How do you know that this is 'highly unlikely'? Your opinion is as speculative as the next person's really. The general lack of new Wii U game announcements would suggest there's not much coming for the Wii U after Zelda next year so a Christmas 2017 release for the NX leaves a pretty big gap on the console front.
AperturePixel

This is highly unlikely, Nintendo will probably announce and show off their new console next year with the focus on a Christmas 2017 release window.

Voted hot as I'm a huge Wii U fan. The games bundled with this are extremely good fun and highly recommended. However, it is apparent from the comments on here that Nintendo really need drop the price in order to shift units. I can't understand their logic in not doing so!

It's because they use to be. Back in May you could get limited edition ones for £170, now they cost £280.
Nintendo have given up on the Wii U and reports say they will release their new console next year. Would explain why they're no longer trying to shift units anymore.
