Pick up a Fit Meter to track your activity level throughout the day. This portable accessory records your steps and detects changes in activity level altitude and atmospheric pressure and can even estimate what kind of exercise you're doing aside from Wii Fit U. Using the built-in infrared technology of the Wii U GamePad you can quickly and easily add this information to your Wii Fit U profile and chart your overall physical activity level during the day.

Aren't these petty big units? I have a pedometer app on my phone; what does this do better? Do you get interesting stuff on Wii fit U?

Dunno. I bought 2 and now long at getting Wii U fit game. But seeing have also bought Splatoon, MK8, Mario Party 10, Toads Treasure Tracker, Donkey Kong Tropical Breeze, and Just Dance, am wondering if any of us are actually going to be interested in fitness and a few exercises with all these cracking games to play. Do people actually use these things with all the other cracking stuff on Wii U?

Would it know when I'm masturbating? If so I assume there's a strokes-to-steps converter?

Twice this discounted price on Amazon. I have no experience of Wii U Fit, but I think if nothing else it will be a bit of a laugh the whole family wandering about with these and checking our data.

I've always considered the meter a very accurate step-counter. In my hand, or in my pocket, on my waist, it seems to keep a very accurate track.
Never entirely understood the calorie counter system mind you. Given the mythical average is 2000 calories per day for an adult male, I think I've only hit that figure once so far, having gone running for 45 minutes with it on and being pretty active the rest of the day.

Waste of time, about as accurate as a watch going backwards. My wife and I have one each we walk the same eg: 10,000 steps on one 17000 on the other. Sent back twice, months to wait for the 'repaired' item to be returned (actually new ones)and still the same problem given up and spent a fortune on 2 fitbits.

It does rather depend on your stride length which I doubt is the same.
My wife and I had one of these each, worked well. She swapped for a Fitbit, very similar step count.
These are accurate if attached to your belt as intended.

It's definitely £3.99. I think a couple of people are having the same issue. I'm seeing £3.99 though.
