You only get 1/3rd of the heat out of these over proper logs. (Splitting and stacking being the other 2/3rds.

I know what you mean - I just spent £200 on an electric/hydraulic log splitter.
I think Sainsburys might have these on special too. Can't see them on their web site, so maybe it's store specific . . .

Rubbish! For the first time this week I tried some logs to compare, Heatlogs burn hotter and radiate more heat when the stove door is open. You cant burn logs with the door open because unlike UKheatlogs the spit!

"Splitting and stacking being the other 2/3rds."
I see what you did there
These Heatlogs give as much heat if not more than wood logs, and last longer. They do not spit, and make far less ash than wood logs. They are easier and cleaner to store, take up less space. I have been using them for two years, compared with logs which I burnt over Christmas in the wood stove, these are far better

Called aldi customer services, they said they are £2.99 but did confirm which local stores have them.

I think it must be individual store managers decision?
The local manager told me there was no rush as they were slow sellers?
The two pallets that I saw in the back took up a lot of much needed space over the Christmas perion.

They are still excellent at £2.99, the price they were displayed at but they scanned at £1.99.
I will not be going back to logs, these give out more heat and last longer.

I got 4 boxes at my local Aldi today at £1.99 each.
This is the first time I've used them and they are so much better than logs. They burn for much longer and give out far more heat. Also they burn much cleaner too so there is much less smoke.
Be aware though that they really do expand a lot and one provides lots of heat for a long time.
I very much doubt I will be going back to normal logs.

In order to light them easily I use hammer and wood chisel to split one log into disks.
With two or three disks and a small amount of kindling they light very easy and provide
a good base for the first full log.
Opening post
Displaying at £2.99 but scans at £1.99.
These excellent logs are sold by the manufacturers ukheatlogs.co.uk
for upwards of £4. So hot at £2.99.
2014 HUKD price was £2.49 (ALDI)

I have found these to be better than the VERDO logs @£2.79/10kg
