I waited 40 years to try a Twinkie. They used to be advertised in Marvel comics back in the 70's and 80's and they seemed delicious. They sadly are not. They are like sugar infused shaving cream wrapped in an over sweetened bath sponge.

A Twinkie is the only treat that will survive a nuclear holocaust. I doubt being out of date would be a problem on something this artificial.
I often say these are not very nice, they taste as artificial as they look and I wouldn't ever buy them for anyone else. But at this price, I encourage people to try them and make their own mind up as you will probably never find them cheaper. Heated for the price even though they are not for me.

Untrue.
"For 10 weeks, Mark Haub, a professor of human nutrition at Kansas State University, ate one of these sugary cakelets every three hours, instead of meals. To add variety in his steady stream of Hostess and Little Debbie snacks, Haub munched on Doritos chips, sugary cereals and Oreos, too.
His premise: That in weight loss, pure calorie counting is what matters most -- not the nutritional value of the food.
The premise held up: On his "convenience store diet," he shed 27 pounds in two months.
For a class project, Haub limited himself to less than 1,800 calories a day. A man of Haub's pre-dieting size usually consumes about 2,600 calories daily. So he followed a basic principle of weight loss: He consumed significantly fewer calories than he burned.
His body mass index went from 28.8, considered overweight, to 24.9, which is normal. He now weighs 174 pounds.
But you might expect other indicators of health would have suffered. Not so. "

They went out of date 15 Nov.
Was tempted but after clearing tesco if all their celebration pouches this would have been one diabetic step too far.
And anyone who cries poundland, they sell individual cakes for £1 ( sometimes 241) not a box.

Exactly the same experience here. Cutting down to 1500 a day I dropped 4 stone in 6 months, even when those 1500 consisted of McDonalds or takeouts.

I seem to recall posting on a HB Twinky deal that soon there would be a mega price drop as no-one was buying them and there was loads of stock, seems I was right. We still have a box of the degusting things, not even my sweet-toothed teenager will eat them!

By the way I was in the Yarmouth store yesterday looking for cheap gag gifts for secret santa. Saw these at the checkout on the far end from the entrance with a label, £1.49 crossed out, now only £1 a box. Label says "short date" but I suspect they are actually past best before as others have commented.

Chances are if food or drink is reduced it has a short date. Always check the date on things at B&M and if you find the date it of that day or even before let the till staff know and they can reduce it
