Popped in to my local Staples for weekly supply of paper. They had a huge poster at front of store for Toshiba L50 i7 5th gen 8gb 1tb 2gb dedicated graphics card...

Already got myself a laptop on black Friday but gonna give that to the wife now.. Also came with free bag.

Staff said it was nationwide subject to stock. They had about 7 left mid afternoon.. This was Fareham store..

Can't complain at all. Very happy with the purchase.
Not had time to try anything too resource intensive but compared to the old dell inspiron 6400 I was using its like chalk and cheese. Have upgraded to win10 as can't stand windows 8.
I'm a non gaming technophobe so would be surprised if I ever pushed the machine to its limits. As a simpleton my review would be nicely styled, great sound and display, and quick. Sorry I can't provide a more technical response.

is this offer still on? can't find the laptop on website, don't want to phone up and wait for hours to find out the offers not even on anymore, i waited an age on black friday for the guy to tell me they didn't have any left. And if this isn't such a good deal anyone know of a decent enough laptop for the kids to play games on watch movies and work etc at this price range, HP is out of the question lol

I have to say, the way i was treated by staff at staples corner is disgusting. I called up, spoke to a chap named mo, that put me on hold telling me he was passing me on to the manager and left me on hold. Gave up after 20 mins.

Tried calling the High Wycombe branch at 5pm.
I was told they had none in stock and that the price had returned to £660 :-{

value for money is good, but not as good as if it had a FHD screen with an i5-5200u cpu, you'll barely notice the extra grunt in the i7 cpu, but you wouldn't half notice a higher resolution FHD screen, and I stand by my comment to the effect the higher quoted price is just clickbait, it could never be sold in quantities at that price

Yes I respect your point, although your getting a bit technical for me. Your looking for certain features which I respect you pay the extra money for. I just want a laptop for a bit of gaming, office, e-mail and internet and this was the cheapest I have seen an i7 let alone an i5 but yes if you wanted the display you mentioned you'd pay the top money.

i7 means nothing, this is just a dual core CPU with performance just above a 2nd gen i5. You're all falling for the con.

Is this a good laptop for gaming? I notice it has a 930m GPU so would that be able to play say Counter Strike? Also does it have Wifi and Bluetooth as it doesnt say.

ok, here's a better deal in my opinion, even though its still just HD resolution

9.00 am went to Merton branch. Store manager looked up on the system and there was 3 available at Staples corner (stock number 430601)
Got it reserved.

Turn up at Staples corner store and they trying to tell me this stock number is for i3 model.
writen by marker pen fake stock number 430601

Manager saying if it was i7 he would buy it of me.
Now I know where they are all gone.

Will ring up the customer service and find out.

Same thing almost happened to me. When I was in the Hayes store at about 10:15 the assistant told me there was 2 in Staples Corner. She spoke on the phone to the Staples Corner manager and he said the stock is actually an i3 as well. Luckily for me a friend lives near another store which had stock so he picked one up for me and what he picked up was definitely the i7.

They were out of stock in the Hayes store, but they showed me stock levels elsewhere and I got a friend to pick one up for me at a Staples near him.

It doesn't look like there are many in London, can't remember where had stock but it is definitely worth phoning up your local Staples to check with the SKU code, a good number of shops in the south had a few in stock.

Just bought one from the Coventry store, 5 mins before the store closed. The staff didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I asked about this laptop and showed me a ex display i3 L30 Toshiba.

So I asked them to check stock on SKU No. 430601 and it was in stock at £329.99. They did say there were some more in stock but forgot ask how many.
