its a shame the reviews are so bad as I've been waiting for a skating game on the ps4 and going by he comments its not even worth 16 quid or 5p can someone who has it explain why its so bad? What makes it such a shocker.

Heard nothing but bad reviews, but I managed to pick it up for around this price a month or so ago.
There was a huge update on installation and i've not experienced major glitches myself. Definitely something here for fans of the series!

Not nearly as bad as people are making out. They just released a bunch of DLC which includes the bug fixes and 2 new areas for free. From talking to friends that have played it they have all stated that the bugs that you see on YouTube happen incredibly rarely and do not affect the game at all.

If you have an Xbox 360, I highly recommend buying a used copy of Tony Hawk 3 for the Xbox instead of this garbage. It still plays great.

I bet half the people have not even played the game who comment on this thread and just go off what other people say in reviews.. The game has had a massive update which eliminates the bugs and makes it completely playable... If its not your cup of tea and want more of the originals I suggest buying Tony hawks HD from the PlayStation store..

It's well documented how bad this game actually is, I've played it too, having come from too many hours on 1-4, this is a terrrible entry. It has none of what made the originals so special (slow loading, awful framerate, no instant restarts, game-breaking bugs, no pickup-and-play mechanic, controls and physics are off). I even went back to the originals to make sure, and they are exactly how I remember it. Also these developers butchered the HD remake too with similar issues.
Man this is such a head-in-the-sand response, sometimes a bad game is made and rightfully should be called out for it. Looking at the background of this title, this was clearly a rushed project made to fulfil a final release before the hawk/activision contract expired.
If you want a great, modern skating game - get OlliOlli 2. Even if it's 2D, it has a lot of the same, tight, skill-based gameplay that the TH games are known for. Otherwise, try and pick up a cheap copy of Skate or Tony Hawks 1-4. (Notice the PC versions of the game have gone up in price since this release).

Paying for this at any price gives Activision and other companies no need to complete games without bugs/issues at release.
Regardless of the new update, the game was sold incomplete and a buggy mess. Some kids may get this in the xmas stocking if their PS4 isn't connected to the network it will be broken for them.

When Alien: Colonial Marines was getting based and trashed by everyone i thought "it can't be that bad, surely?" and eventually snapped it up when it went to something like £2.99
They weren't lying; it was beyond awful. I'd put this on par or maybe even slightly worse. A absolute farce that this was released in the state it was. Deadlines or otherwise nobody with any professional pride should have signed that off as being a finished project.

Don't buy it! Apart from being a shocking game the disc only contains a glorified demo and the entire game is then
downloaded upon first inserting the disc which means if you don't put your console online you don't get the full game!!

There are lots of well done reviews of the game that highlight just how bad a title it really is.

I'd reccomend anyone on the fence about this game to listen to Jeff Gerstmann's assesment of the game. He really highlight all the issues this title has.
