I ordered one of these in a rush, hoping it would work as a normal video camera, but no zoom? Not much use I think...

I think the idea is that you attach it to your helmet while doing something dangerous in circumstances where framing a shot and zooming in wouldn't be possible to do safely.

Do you want to sell it on?

Its designed to be used more for sport activities, i do a lot of enduro's so i went for the Gopro but this would of been more ideal strapped to the side of my helmet and its easier to record when i have gloves on compared to the Gopro
The TOMTOM Premium Pack Bandit Action Camcorder is also available at half price with the £60 cashback deal. Oooh - am soooo tempted! Thanks OP! :innocent:

I used the cashback offer on the tomtom go 5100 ages ago and didnt have any issues receiving the cashback, think it took about 2-3 weeks to get paid direct in to my bank account if anyone has any doubts about the cashback offer.

Does anyone know what the wireless range is like on these? I would like to get something for my girlfriend to use while horse riding and also if possible to use remotely between a car and trailer to keep an eye on the horse while in transit. Many Thanks

Premium pack price matched on Amazon too £179.50 (with NUS discount just over £170 if applicable to you) - £60 cashback makes it about £110.

Does the premium pack which include the waterproof lens make the whole thing waterproof? Or do you need another housing on top?
Base Pack: The camera, 2x surface mounts, one GoPro adapter Premium Pack: The camera, 2x surface mounts, one GoPro adapter, one 360° pitch mount, one handlebar mount, waterproof lens cover, remote control, power cable

Thanks. So base version is waterproof to 1m and premium pack is up to 40m? So just to be clear. Purchasing the premium pack means I don't need to fork out for additional housing for camera? Sorry to be dim.

I've just ploughed through the very extensive review that is linked to in an earlier post and according to that it does have GPS built in
There's another legendary HUKD purchase made that I didn't need.
Worked out as £165.50 for me (got 8% off £175 worth of PC World vouchers through work).
So take off the £60, and that's £105.50 all in. Was thinking of getting a new mount for the SJ4000 I've got in the car to use on the bike, but this seems a much better idea with a 3 hour battery life.
Hopefully another quid or two via Quidco as well.

It's a fair question and i'm not 100% sure but from what I understand, the standard lens is splash proof and the lens cover in the premium pack makes the whole thing fully waterproof

interesting, very interesting.,,. my requirements are simple, but, I can't seem to get them in one package that doesn't cost too much.

Found this at pocket lint... "The TomTom Bandit is totally waterproof as it is but requires an additional lens cap cover to be waterproof all the way to 50 metres. It also features a USB 3.0 connector so it can be plugged directly into a computer for access to its microSD and to charge the battery."

16 Dec 15#37
Still not entirely clear is it.
"The TomTom Bandit is totally waterproof as it is" - except it can't be if it needs a waterproof cap

Surely not with the price of SD cards nowadays, surely a 32Gb card would outlast the battery, if not several times over?

This or the go pro session? This is chunky but has 3 hours battery compared to 2 hours of the small session. Session is £40 more.

This any day of the week. The session really is the poor mans go pro
StillTheFlyest to ridgers84
16 Dec 15#46
It's small and has less features than the other go pros, biggest issue being you can't replace the battery but the spare battery for this cost £45. Both are only good for hd capture. Go pro will have more support, app updates. But with this Tom Tom, I suppose you could buy a spare battery as well for the price of the session. Decisions.

Wiggle.co.uk are doing the spare battery for £36 delivered I believe
