Yes I agree. It took ages to update ours. We had games on disc as well like Super Smash Bros that had a big updates before you could play so it's a good idea to get those out the way too. Then we had to find a sd card too lol

The MK8 offer was over a year and a half ago. The Nintendo Network Premium program ended over a year ago. Only a couple of weeks ago America had offers for a week, bigger discounts on about 50 games. We in Europe got 2 **** offers a day only, so 8 games in total over 4 days. Woo Boooooo!

There was a monster system update on my Wii U when I got it a couple of years ago. I don't know if the new models still have this. If you get the chance, it might be worth plugging it in and setting it up before the big day, just to make sure.

Toki Tori is a very good game. Even better is the sequel Toki Tori 2. It really is one of the best games on Wii U and with a price tag of €2.99 it's an absolute steal. I highly recommend and encourage people to buy it. Its looks are deceptive, don't let that fool you.

Nintendo have had some great offers, they just do it in a different way. Like when they gave away an entire game free with Mario Kart 8. Or their Nintendo Network Premium program which gave 10% back on all eShop purchases for people who bought a premium Wii U within a certain time after release.
