I'm slightly offended that Child of Light is £1.50 the game is absolutely beautiful.

If you don't already have it purchase it now! Its the price of a double cheese burger and you will get far more hours of enjoyment out of it. :laughing: Mmm McDonalds breakfast...

None, the key is ROW. Half my Steam library is purchased via VPN. Never had anything removed. Only time an item will get removed is if the key was purchased in some sort of counterfeit way. Nuuvem are legit, just based way down in South America hence to low price.

It's a Rest of the World key. Nuuvem are an authorised retailer of Steam keys, unfortunately they are only authorised for South America which is why they have payment restrictions in place. In reality as the key is ROW, the process of redemption on Steam isn't (shouldn't be) really affected.

What VPN do you guys use? I tried with HOLA for Chrome, but when I add something to the basket, and then I go to checkout, the basket is empty

I've been using TunnelBear extension for Chrome to buy games from Nuuvem with great success. Some games can be bought via VPN, some can't - not sure what the difference is (possibly a Paypal country/address check as well as IP address check?) but for those that work, TunnelBear is a reliable VPN. You have to create an account, but that's free, and it has a 500mb per month limit, but that's more than enough to buy a few games (just remember to switch it off or your regular browsing will use it all up quickly!).

The general rule is that you'll be fine using a VPN to buy keys - if the keys are region free you can then activate them on your Steam account with no repercussions. The games that get removed are the ones where you've used a VPN to activate a region locked key or gift on Steam.
So, in summary - VPN for buying on other sites = good; VPN for activating on Steam = bad.

Please, please don't use hola for anything, in particular if you're going to enter sensitive data like account details or payment info. They have some very shady business practices and you're just leaving yourself open for trouble. More info here: http://adios-hola.org/

I can't recommend a free alternative at all, but please don't use or recommend hola.

isnt this a problem with all VPNs. In the past I use and then remove the client.

Isn't the rule; be cautious with anything 'free'. If it claims to be free, they want your data/privacy as is the case with google

It's a problem with free VPNs certainly, and hola in particular are pretty unscrupulous. I can't force anyone to do anything (otherwise I'd be just stupidly wealthy, purple skin optional) but consider: while you have the extension active, you could sens your payment info to an unknown third party, one not necessarily bound by such niceties as legality, and someone could be using your connection as a proxy to download gigs of horse porn.

I completely forgot they had a free option, good shout!

Balls, Child of Light is UPlay and Witcher doesn't have a Steam link either. I try and get games only through Steam. I suppose I can live with it.. :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: Ughhh wtf is GOG - that site is awful! My game is split into a million pieces??
