The first one is spectacular! The second one isn't nearly as good, but is still worth a watch, especially at this price. I paid £15 for the second alone, this is a bargain...

Everyone saying The Raid 2 sucks is an idiot.
It surpasses the first in almost every way.
The first is a pure, adrenaline fuelled, tightly scripted action film.
The second is a sprawling crime epic.
If it was identical to the first it would have been ****.
This is up there with The Godfather 2 in terms of sequels that surpass their excellent first parts.
In fact... Its just up there with The Godfather part 2, full stop.

Both films get a definite 10/10 from me. On first watching, it can be quite hard to follow the second film as the plot is a lot more complex and you need to keep up with what is going on, who's who and how characters have arrived at conclusions without it being spoon fed to you. Therefore it's only the second time round that you can really appreciate the film, it's fantastic cinematography and phenomenal directing. Couple that with fight scenes filmed to perfection (a bit gory for some, but there's no sugarcoating what gangster life is about in this movie) and you've really got something special, and on top of this the fight scene in the kitchen is probably the best I've ever seen. To be honest these are easily my favourite two action films and nothing else really comes close. At £6 I can only say that this is an absolute steal.

Bit of a sweeping statement there, not everyone has a reduced intellect, some understand and appreciate it upon first viewing.

Raid 2 is the best action film I've ever watched. Blew me away.
The director is now making the Star Wars spinoff rogue squadron I think it's called? Says he will make raid 3 after that. Gonna be goooood.
