Already pre-ordered it from Amazon so gonna stick with that since it's cheaper for me but for everyone else this might be the better deal overall.

oh nice. I was wondering it we would ever going to get a standard edition at all since every mention of this release before had been for the amiibo bundle.

As if Sony hasn't been doing this for years

A 9 year old game as of tomorrow (in Europe at least) and if it's anything like The Wind Waker HD it will be worth every penny.

It is a lot of game for the money. Although I'm not a fan of having to straighten my elbows to game. I like to use me thumbs n fingers only. Had they made a HD version of Ocarina of Time though? I'd be all over that like a zombie on brains.

I'd be surprised if it's still controlled with the Wii remote.

It's the gamecube version, so no wii mote and not mirrored - Link is left handed again.

They've not revealed what kind of use the GamePad will have but it's probably gonna be a map or for the usual Off-TV Play.
I'll be using the Wii U Pro Controller.

The comparison Nintendo released proves that it is the GameCube version and not the mirrored Wii port. Thank god.

I started to fancy Midna. When I think about this I talk to the me of 5 years ago and say "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!" and then wonder if it'll happen again when I replay it. Girls with a cheeky wink and a stray fang always did baste my turkey, though.

My bad I meant the Wii U Pro Controller support lol, cool thanks!

True but Sony's games were already at a decent graphical standard even before being remastered. Nintendo used far more effort in revamping Windwaker which is why the end product (which is what matters most) looks amazing, unlike this one.
I say this as a Nintendo fan who will probably buy this when it hits around £25 :stuck_out_tongue:

Can you find a copy of Windwaker HD for £25?

HD wont save this from being one of the worst Zelda games ever made, absolutely awful game.

I'd play this over Ocarina again any day. Even Master Quest.
And I mean the Wii version. I love those controls.

Windwaker always looked magnificent. The little gameplay tweaks were the things that really helped.
A bit like the Wii cheats letting you fly using the leaf at thousands of mph which basically took the grind out.
Absolutely agree about the price if you've already got it. Even though a really good old Nintendo game is better than the soulless cack on the Xbone paying similar prices always seems wrong - but you end up doing it!

glad you like it, but you're in the minority mate. It's not worthy of being mentioned in same breath as Ocarina. I mean they're is absolutely no comparison....Ocarina story & dungeon size are different class.

You can't dismiss another's opinion as being subjective and then make out that your view is objectively correct
Twilight Princess may not present the iconic shift to 3D that Ocarina of Time did, but that can only ever happen once. Both games are still widely very highly regarded by large numbers of people, but choosing between them (and any other Zeldas) will always be down to personal preference.

I didn't think Zoso was dismissing me. Sometimes it's easy to take a 'bad tone' from comments on the net, and I didn't feel that even if it was intended.
I've played through Ocarina so many times - like seriously too many times and one day I just knew I couldn't go back. It's the same with Tomb Raider - the first one, the real first one. I can't play that again. It's not just game fatigue, but that sometimes for a particular game it's just over. If I ever had to get to that state with Tomb Raider 2 I'd feel devastated. I remember somebody pushing me for my 2nd favourite game maaany moons ago and having to decide between that and Mario 64 - Tomb Raider 2 won and I felt like I was betraying M64. Link to the Past is always number #1 - clearly!

I didn't state anything subjectively, I said I am genuinely happy you like it, I wish I did. My opinion is, I think it was absolute junk, poorly designed dungeons, horrible overworld. No magic & mystery.....it just didn't gel for me at all. It was missing the Zelda x factor which makes them so great........I thought Skyward Sword had that. Again, some people didn't liek that.

def dude, i just type in a direct tone, its not meant to be rude, i just type what i think off the cuff....happy you like Twilight. Hey you seem like you know your games, so I might just give it another whirl to see if it was just bad timing in my life when i played it!

I'll probably play it again pretty soon as it was 2008 when I played it. I just had a look if I'd done a review of it and I didn't, but in my gaming diary I gave it 8.4/10. I did find this, though, which means I'll have to replay that soon.

Definitely do so! We may find that with this re-release, there are changes introduced that address the points that you find less desirable, but as The Wind Waker HD brought us the swift sale and a streamlined Triforce shard hunt.
Yep, Okami's up there alongside the best of the Zeldas, especially if the setting appeals.
