I have just returned from my shopping expedition to Lincoln Tesco Extra

I purchased yellow tail Chardonnay white, Blossom Hill Grenache Rose, Yellow Tail Shiraz, Jacobs Creek Classic Shiraz and McGuiggan Classic Cabernet sauvignon.. all worked fine for me with the discount

I purchased 10 other items 1 x Banana, 1 x red Onion, 1 x white Onion three different 10p sweets and Tesco own Mushy Peas/Sweetcorn/Tinned Tomatoes and Tinned Potatoes..

Not sure if anyone has just bought the wine without purchasing anything else

some saying offer ended, if you check mysupermarket asda still has the grenache at £5 or 6 for £25 where as Tesco £7 a bottle brand guarantee will still work

X2 Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon
X2 Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc
X1 Yellowtail Shiraz (nabbed the last one!)
X1 Blossom Hill White Zinfandel

Got other bits for my shop, total came to about £42, 25% was £8.82 price promise was £9 something.

Then came to £28 - had a coupon for £6 off a £30 shop so ran back to get a Hardys crest for £5 - it took £1.25 off that too for the 25% off!

Total was £33 - £6 coupon - £1.50 coupon = final bill of £24! 7 bottles of wine, some crisps, some eggs, milk and sugar..bargain!

Still plenty full on the shelves in Top Valley Extra. Saved about £24 altogether with some good quality wine for about £20! Thanks again OP

Went again today all Faustino,except one blossom hill rose,surprised there was still many left ,got caught by price promise as wanted the flash gel I bought to be matched.not major loss as had vouchers

It wrked online except like a prat I ordered NINE bottles of wine so i only got 8.85 back on brand guarantee but even so 9 decent bottles of wine for about 32 quid is not to be sniffed at. Although I also have packets of mints and tins of custard etc that I might not ever use. didn't help that i took "advantage" of Tesco's reduced prices on 2 certain items (like custard) when I didn't need to

Asda have taken down the 6 for £25 online. Will it still work? Bottles on asda are still rollback £5?

Thanks op. Saw this only this morning and went out to two Tescos. Nothing much left in one but I actually got the last 12 bottles of the Faustino in the other. Jacobs creek Shiraz was still on shelves and also the Torres but apart from the yellowtail chardonay I didn't check the whites as I already have stacks of the Morrison offer. Can't be exact because I bought some of the champagne and a couple of other bottles not in Asda offer but the rough average price per bottle came out at £2.65ish. So 45 bottles of real nice wine for well under half price. Bought 11 items fillers each time including a couple of cheapie brand names. The Anchor butter is on offer at present for £1.00 so little more than the cheap own brands. Used for the branded item.

Unfortunately the trick did not work for at Tesco Reading West around 12 Sunday. Bought 6 bottles of faustino Vii along with 10 other items. Self service machine detected the 25% off but it did not do the brand match guarantee with Asda so I paid £33.75 for 6 bottles. I should have gone to Asda and paid only £25 for the 6 bottles of faustino vii. Very unlucky today:-)

DONT make my mistake...... thinking I hadn't added enough 'extra' sweets, I decided to get a few branded stuff i needed. Unfortunately choosing some Schwartz spice mixes that were on offer £1 down to 50p, which I completely forgot would be taken into account on comparable shop. Still, I got £10.70 on 25% off and £10.53 off price match so a £50 shop down to £30 , so still good, but honest, just be really cheeky and stick to 10p sweets and a mushroom to weigh out.

Yes you are wrong.. the price of Blossom Hill Grenache Rose in a tesco store is £7 x 6 (not sure the price in express) but thats £42 then minus the 25% would be about £32 for 6 bottles in a express store (if £7) ... in a tesco store (not express) that would be £15 and you are indeed wrong! therefor it is a GLITCH! Because in a store you would get a extra £17 off from BM

Using 10p sweets and 1 onion,1 banana,1 carrot etc as your fillers is usually a guaranteed way for these brand guarantees to work as now I don't know if it didn't work because of the other items you bought or because that particular wine you chose isn't comparing as it's the Rose Grenache that was working earlier.

Its not hard,just go on the Asda Groceries website,check what is on the offer there and then go in-store at Tesco and check to see if the wine you want is there and then buy that wine or wines in our case,lol. Simple and great fun,Mrs Cool is very happy lady tonight with all her purchases!:smirk:

We never mixed any types up,which we guess would work, but the most expensive wines are the ones to go for as the saving works out greater!

I think the brand match bit depends on what you buy, I went in and got my weekly bits as I had a £6 off £40 and a couple of other coupons anyway, With the wine it all came to £34. Bargain, took off £10.50 for the 25% and £15.52 brand match! Nice!

Just tried this, wrote down all the named wines on this thread and popped to Tesco to see what I could find . I bought a selection of 6 bottles Mc Guigan Classic Cabernet Sauvignon, Faustino V11 Rioja ,Yellow Tail Pinot Grigio, Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon, Mg Guigan Classic Pinot Grigio, Blossom Hill Chardonnay , and 6 small items which included branded sweets at 10 p each and a few carrots . 12 items in total . I said nothing when I got to the till . My total bill came to £43.25 underneath this 25% was taken off the wine at £10.38 and then underneath this £3.27 was taken off says Brand guarantee bringing the total down to £29.60 ( on closer inspection they had charged me for McGuigan twice , so subsequently refunded me double the cost of the McGuigan £10.50 so I paid £19.10 in total )

You can use the wines as a matched item,I got 11 items Inc 3 diffwines

I think they bought the De Albai Reserva at T's which is a different rioja to the De Albai Crianza which is in the Asda offer? Therefore it will not compare, as it is a different product, so you just get the regular 25% off at Tesco.

Not sure if I am doing something wrong, I went to Tesco and got 11 items all were different plus 6 bottles of Castillo De Albai Rioja Reserva which is currently on the 6 for £25 at Asda but selling for £10 a bottle in Tesco. I only got the 25% Tesco offer deducted and no price match.

Fix not working

Okay. I ordered 6x Louis Delaunay champagne at £10 per bottle as per post on here to get 25% off and pay £7.50 a bottle. When I picked them up they had substituted for Andre Carpentier champagne and given a price match refund of £30. Then it took off 25% as £22.50 (presumably 25% off the original £15 a bottle price) and then end total I paid was £37.50 for six bottles of champagne! £6.75 a bottle.
On writing this I realise there's a difference between brand match and price match. Clearly I benefited from price match as the original order was out of stock and they had to substitute.

Worked for me! Bought the 6 bottles of blossom hill Grenache rose at leicester Tesco (wasn't much left) and came to £14.31 = £2.39 a bottle

If you bought 6 different bottles of wine would they count as 6 of your 10 items?

If they are £25 for 6 then surely the price you will pay is £25 - 25% ( £6.25 ) = £18.75?

I went for the 25% offer this morning to buy my favourite Aussie which is Tingle up Riesling (not to be confused with the sweet German/Austrian muck). Used to be £10 but has recently been £8 which was the price with self-scan. At the till it was £5 and so with 25% off £3.75/bottle.

This has been happening EVERY time Tesco has done 25% off their wines. In the past you got a voucher, now due to BM it comes off straight away.

Louis Delauney was what I ordered. From a deal posted on here. Worked out £7.50 a bottle. But when I collected they had substituted and brand matched and it worked out £6.75 a bottle!! Bronze award winner and telegraph rated it as good party champagne so hoping it will be fine!!

It's best to get something like 10p sweets,Haribo,Wham bar etc or things like a loose banana,loose onion etc or if you use them their own brand tinned veg,we also got 4 pints of milk for the other items needed.

Ideally use self service.

The brand guarantee you get back depends on what wine you get as they are different prices obviously :wink::smile:
