When I was a kid you used to get loads of double yolks. I've not had one since I left home 15 years ago......what's that about?

lol yeah, most mass sourced eggs bought for chain stores never get a double yolk. if you pick up some from your local butcher or market you still find the doubles

Seriously these have got to be the hardest egg shells ever ! When you hit them they obviously crack but the white membrane is like rubber ? We have stopped buying happy eggs because of it.

Yuk that sounds gross. Eggs are not what they used to be, when I was a child all of the eggs all had white shells. I find it hard to get a nice tasting egg these days, I have started buying from a local farm and paying a bit more the eggs are a lot nicer too.
