Where I live I would say EE and O2 are to be avoided as Vodafone has a better signal.
I don't see the point in slating the network coverage, it depends where you live/are going to use it.
It is like saying avoid all the Tesco stores as my local doesn't do freshly baked bread.

Don't know why people commit to 12 month contracts when there are monthly deals around the same for the same price.

I did a quick google and apparently you can tether. Also, this isn't TalkTalk. Talk Mobile is owned by Vodafone.

£20 cashback via quidco...It is a good deal but as I need it for my 12 years old son, I need a tariff with a cap to avoid nasty surprises. Talkmobile set their cap high at £50

Tesco are best for capping, think you can set it at £0

I contacted them via the online chat and they capped out of allowance charges to £1 so it can never go higher than that. They also emailed me a copy of the transcript so I have proof.

I disagree, customer service has been fine for the few years i've been using TalkMobile. Contacted them a few times. My only complaint is the slow data service and general data coverage isn't great but I don't use it enough to go through the hassle of changing provider.

You should see the hell I had with these people. It would take me an hour to type it all out. Screw up after screw up after screw up after screw up.. it just wouldn't end. A stream of calls, often for no reason. Went on for over a month solid.
Told them to GTF in the end.

This is owned by Vodafone so equally bad if not worse!
They must be pretty bad if Carphone Warehouse sold them despite still wanting to be in the game (and starting ID on another carrier instead). If anyone should know it's cpwh...

This is what they said:
Mohamed: Kindly bear with me, to do this for you and I will make the unbilled charges be £1 so it won't reach more than £13.50 (normal £12.50 a month charge + £1)
Mohamed: Thanks for holding
Mohamed: The cap is done and it became £1 so it will be at max £13.50

No offence but that is such nonsense.
You've decided its great value for money and not factored i) Coverage & ii) Customer Services!
Talkmobile could offer you 6GB data/month for £1 & guess what...you'll never get the pleasure of testing it because it won't work when & where you need it!
And they piggy back off a Vodafone signal (which you say should be avoided!!!).

I've been using TalkMobile for a few years now due to the favourable price via CPWH.
I find that calls and texts randomly appear to go MIA very occasionally. Their robotic script offshore live chat, when I've needed to use it a couple of times (trying to get back an end of contract credit amount) was very polite but takes an age to go through and I found I had to repeat the process because the first CS rep didn't action properly what I thought was a simple enough request.
I stay with them because a) I can live with the odd call and text going astray and b) its better value than anything else I can get out their for a real network (I've got FreedomPop as a backup).
I've never had too much of an issue with the data where I am (urban area) - far better on that score than the joke of a data service that I've seen friends on GiffGaff having to put up with.

No offense gollywood but equally nonsense is what you speak too! I use talktalk just to make it more confusing who also use vodafone and the signal where i live is much better. Also i don't care about 4g as i don't use it and even switch off 3g! I have an ipad that does that and can honestly say vodafone's signal 3g and 2g is better than EE who i was with orange beforehand for 10 years!
It depends on where you are going to use it and whats in the way and how many people use the network in the area etc... Also cheap Chinese phones wih tinfoil for an antenna don't help (but of course its never the customer always the network)
If people have had bad experiences then it doesn't mean its crap for someone else in a different area. When i read reviews every network operator is to be avoided! I'm told don't use three when a three deal is posted don't use 02 when an o2 deal is posted and deffo don't use EE cause they have the worst customer services with BT! It cracks me up maybe everyone should get rid of their mobiles oh no we can't live with out them etc...
So in other words all comments to be taken with a pinch of salt but to say avoid vodafone because you don't like them is utter tosh! The signal is by far the best and i always get service where i live of course

I have been with Talkmobile since mid 2012,no problems since then.I have a legacy contract with unlimited data for £16.30 a month, upgraded to a sim-free phone from elsewhere after 24months they sent a nano sim within two days. The point being this is hard to better if Vodafone covers where you need it to.Hot deal IMHO.

I've used Talkmobile on and off for years. Their CS is ok. They made a mistake when ordering a sim and porting a number once, but it got sorted out easily enough. I've had issues reclaiming end of contract money that was owed to me, but it was straightforward enough. Their customer service is 100% better than EE's.
As for their data speeds, they are fine in North Hampshire and Dorset, so it depends on where you live (EE and O2 are useless in this area).

22 Dec 15#43
Avoid like the plague.... CS is the worst I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. They would need to pay me to to use them, in fact they couldn't pay me enough to take out a contract with them again. Of course your mileage may vary, but there are enough folks who have commented on here who have had bad experiences to make it clear that you should seriously avoid. Good luck to those taking up the offer you will need it in bucketfuls.

Most likely a requirement to sell in the contract with CPW had to as Voda would be the exclusive provider of any CPW MVNO given IDmobile with 3, remember Fresh Mobile MVNO via CPW with T-Mobile backhaul. No doubt in the circumstances Voda got first refusal to buy TalkMobile - I would imagine Voda had that written into the MVNO contract as a Vodafone exclusivity should CPW deviate like it did with T-Mobile.
Thats rubbish...I'm on talkmobile now,and the signal isn't very consistent. Ee are much better...wish i never left!
