How is it compared to witcher2? Struggling to get into Witcher2, I think due to me not understanding the spell things.
Is this going to be any less frustrating for me?

Very Different, far more exploration in Skyrim to the Witcher, Skyrim's world is really alive.

Actually bought my xb1 for witcher 3 but since I finished it I haven't turned it on lol. 50 hours into skyrim so far.. So much better than witcher

A thoroughly immersive world even by todays standards. If youv'e never played before your in for a treat. Get the 'Legendary' edition instead though as its also cheap at the moment plus get into modding at the same time, it can improve and expand on every aspect of the game, its not hard to do and very rewarding.
