Have been on the look out for a decent bag for my tools on site. Came across this decent backpack and can't go wrong at £31.
This Stanley 195611 backpack has a zip fastening design from top to bottom that allows the backpack to open in two halves. There are compartment pockets inside to told tools securely and tidily. Stanley have used good top quality material in this backpack, that will with stand site working conditions and all weather conditions. There are two side pockets for larger items, plus a net back pocket that is suitable for plans, papers etc. The 195611 has a back support system and air mesh shoulder straps for ergonomic, convenient carriage. A waterproof plastic bottom protects against moisture and dirt. Dimensions: 36 x 46 x 27cm.

As a emergency plumber, I have one of these.
Very useful when working in city centre and have to walk a long way with tools.
Also used in a very large office block where carrying my heavy toolbox makes my arms ache.

as an it techy this is perfect I bought it when it was 26.99 a few weeks ago. carries all my network tools my laptop and other equipment. it did away with the tool carrier as that's no use to me.

Good price, and should cover most of my smaller jobs. I mainly deal with electrics though, not as many tools needed as a builder etc.

You make a valid point , but running back and forward to the van is time consuming. A larger box , perhaps on wheels is a better all round solution to carrying all you need in one go . Though this will suit the guys out there with only a few hand tools to use . Just my opinion, but it seems to be heating up nicely

More hassle than they are worth these bags . Might suit someone with only a handful of tools . Not a tradesman's friend , too small in volume

Wouldn't it depend what the actual trade was though? I imagine it wouldn't be much use to a decorator, joiner or mechanic, as they'd clearly need a lot more larger tools, but for an electrician, service engineer or telecoms engineer then this might be enough storage for 95% of their jobs and leave any bigger items in the van.
