These work so good with the Amazon Fire Stick! Sadly, only on the newer version/OS. My older stick would not allow pairing with an audio device.

Bought them and am very happy with my purchase. Sound is brilliant bass is well defined, symbols are easily picked out in the busier tracks.They feel like a quality pair of headphones, pairing process was simple, and the buttons are well designed, particularly fond of the rocker to change tracks. They are smaller than I thought (quite happy about that). Didn't even know they could take calls so that's a bonus. Was considering them at full price so at £80 I'm over the moon.

For earbuds, I can highly recommend Sony MDR-EX650 at £40 from amazon.

You cannot get anything better for £40.

In my view, it will simply blow the even more popular Soundmagic E10 at £30 out of water on comfort, build quality and sound quality.

People just do not know there are better choices out there.



Of course, there are premium models out there which will be better for a lot of more money, such as, Sennheiser IE80 and IE8i.

1. All headphones will make your ears hotter to some extent as they cover whole or part of your ears. To remain cool, earbuds will do that.

2. Around-Ear Close-Back will be the hottest.

3. On-Ear or Around-Ear Open-Back will be between.

4. It also depends on the type of ear pads, leather will be hotter than velvet.


I do not feel hot when I wear AKG K702 at home for extensive period. It is around-ear open-back.

But Open-Back is not designed to wear outside, so as Semi-Open Back.

To use outside, there is a dilemma. If the headphones seal your ears good, which means no sound leakage, then your ears will get hotter. On the other hand, if seal is not good, sound will leak, air flow come in, your ears will be cooler, but people around you will get annoyed.

So
To use inside house, AKG K702 will do a fine job.
To use outside, if keep cool and good sound is your priority, On-Ear headphones will be your choice. I can recommend Sennheiser Momentum 1.0 (wired) and Philips M2BT (wireless). People said Momentum 2.0 is good, but I tried it, does not like it at all. I like 1.0 more and cheaper.

Personally, I do not use on-ear headphones due to less comfort and sound leakage.

Could anyone help me decide between these and AKG Y45BT , I understand these are over ear and AKG are slightly more compact and foldable & £20 cheaper @ richer sounds.. Would I be benefitting much in quality with the Sony,s ?

No it's not working with ps4 .

That is the easy bit. You just need to pay for them.

I have AKG K451. Personally, I do not like them. They sit in my drawer for 2 years never use. I have only tried them in the first week when I bought them.

AKG K702 would be a big upgrade from K451 on both comfort and sound quality.

But you have to bear in mind, they are different types.

K451 is on ear, folderable, portable, will leak some sound due to it is on ear. They can be used on the move.

K702 is stuido, so around-ear, big. Cannot fold, not portable. Will definitely leak more sound due to it is open-back. That is how open-back headphones work. In return, they give better sound. They are not designed for outside use.

So if you use them at home, K702 is perfect.

If you are thinking Bose AE2w, it is good for commuting. I have not tried the new Bose Around-Ear II wireless headphones, they are better looking and slightly more expensive, very good reviews too. I can only assume the new version has matching/improved comfort and sound compare to AE2w.


The AE2w offer balanced and natural sounds which was to my surprise, unlike normal Bose heavy bass sound. I do not like Bose normal heavy bass sound, which is why I was really in doubt before I purchase AE2w. But it turn out to be such a good surprise. The balanced sound surprised me, and also the comfortability is way above my expectation.

I posted these last week when they were £99, which was the cheapest ever on Argos / Amazon (according to camelcamelcamel).
Anyhow I got a pair (and £10 voucher back so not too bad)
I am not a big audiophile, but these seem like great headphones to me, very comfortable (over ear) pads that cut out background noise pretty well (though not Noise Cancelling).
Had no issues with Bluetooth cutting out, etc.
Battery quote of 17 hours seems at least correct, possibly longer.
I was looking at the extra bass ones, but the cans are pretty chunky looking. These ones are pretty sleek, and I have even managed to sleep with them on.
Really like these, recommended.

For wireless headphones on the move, I use Bose AE2w. It is extremely comfortable, stay on your head not move at all, it is closed-back which offer passive noise cancelling + it does not leak sound at all which will not annoy people sit next to you on the train. Its sound is good, not the best. However I think they sound better than this Sony.

At home, I use wired AKG K702, it is open-back studio headphones. It leaks some sound as suppose to. But its sound quality is very very good, better than AE2w and MDR-10R.

I can highly recommend them. They are the two most comfortable headphones I have ever used. I have tried a lot headphones and I am very picky. I can say they are better choices if you can find good deal or money is not a issue. They are both around-ear.

I got my Bose for £99 from amazon lighting deal last week.


By the way, I have an AKG Q701 on delivery, I have heard they are very good too. I will report back K702 or Q701 is better.

I did buy the wired version of Sony MDR-10R brand new from Currys for £27.

Which I returned.

I have to say the wired version is well worth the £27. But I have better options on comfortability and sound quality. I do not need a extra cheap set. And I do not like on-ear headphones.

I would presume the sound quality and comfortability is similar between the wired and wireless version.

£80 is a good price for the wireless version. Both its comfort and sound quality are not bad at all.

Question for those in the know... how do the MDR-XB950BT stack up against these?
