Cheapest I can find for a single speaker. There is a UK deal posted for a twin pack and that works out better for a pair when you factor the fact they come with an EU plug (£5 for UK cable from sonos or about £2 for a UK/EU adaptor). But for a single speaker I think this is a good price - actually delivered from UK in about 4 days in my experience.

Has there been a new updated play 1 within the recent revamp? If so, is this it?

They've only refreshed the Play 5. The 1 and 3 are the same as they have been for awhile.

Seems a good deal. Anyone a link to the official UK Sonos cable/plug?
What's the process if the things faulty, does it have to be returned to Italy?

Don't worry about John Lewis they have 2 years warranty anyway (world wide) the play 1 is so good for its size. If you want 2 get the uk deal.

No need for adapters, simply stick a pencil in the top hole of the plug socket, press down on it and push in the Sonos plug into the bottom two holes. Job done.

No bluetooth. But if you have iOS (not sure about Android) you can play anything on your phone to the Sonos or multiple Sonos's using wifi. Best thing I've brought in the past 12 months (I have a Play One in the bedroom and the Connect Amp driving some speakers).

I see someone moaning about bluetooth in almost every Sonos thread and I really don't get it.
Firstly, as you rightly point out you can play music from android or IOS devices via the Sonos app.
Secondly, if it is to be outside of wi-fi range (and they don't want to spring for a boost or homeplugs) then perhaps a wi-fi "room" speaker is the wrong product to be looking at in the first place.
